@Shaye Patel I never realized that I’d be working out less when I started coaching. 4 workouts in a week is impressive! Way to get it brother! Between work, my regular coaching hours, and some pick up hours, I’ve only been able to workout twice a week.
NOVEMBER CHALLENGE
This month I'd like us to be conscious of our breathing. That being said I would like for you to identify something you know that breathing affects in your life. And we will work on bettering it during this month. Today, I am a nasal breather 99% of the time (It took me a long time to realize that I would breath through my mouth while watching TV) I used to be a mouth breather ALL the time. I had to identify when I would do that I made sure to be conscious of it and refocus my breathing patterns. I would like for you to choose one area that you would like to better your breathing pattern and focus on that for this month. Whether it is nasal breathing while watching TV, or during a longer Zone 2 workout, or just in a meeting that you know could have been an email. Let me know what you are going to be working on. For me, I will be working on focusing on my breathing patterns while I eat. I don't breath when I eat. I just shovel food into my mouth and don't think about chewing and breathing.

I’d like to rebuild my engine… being injured and working around injuries has severely impacted my ability to ramp up the intensity. It’s challenging to build an engine when the check engine light is always on and you need a new transmission and suspension.
Friday Bright Spots 10/25
Happy Friday Y'all Hope you had an amazing week. Please share your bright (and not-so-bright spots) from the week. Excited to hear about all the amazing things you all are doing in the world. For me, it was a tough week but with all lows come highs, so I'm excited for the future. It felt great to be back at a regular schedule after traveling so much over the past few weeks. I have had me time and time to film some new content to share with y'all and on my IG. Have an amazing weekend.

I found a new hero for the Avengers today. I was coaching the WOD Karen and one of my athletes decided to chalk up for the wall balls and guess what happened? Her first wall ball shot and boom! Chalk Eye was born! I always look forward to coaching this Friday class. It’s what gets me through the week.

Friday Bright Spots 10/18
Happy Friday yall! What a week! Go ahead and share your bright spots or anything you’d like to share with the community! Remember this is a safe space! Positive Vibes always! For me it was a hectic week but in a good way: First, I came home from my trip to London , 🇬🇧 on Wednesday evening and got right back to coaching Thursday morning! Was able to go to yoga last night and again today! Body feeling good but am having some serious knee issues in the left knee! But it’s all good keep pushing and taking care of it! Received an amazing compliment from a stranger who randomly walked up to me and was like I follow you on IG and you inspire me! It was very humbling and cool at the same time! Excited for the weekend to relax and unwind after a busy couple of weeks! Please feel free to share your bright spots from the week! Have a great weekend and don’t forget to BREATH TO THRIVE!

It’s been a long week as well but this is what I have to look forward to. I coach at two boxes and this box is a lot newer so the athletes are all pretty much new to CrossFit. Seeing them get their ‘firsts’ is what powers me through the week. First double under, first pull up, first whatever the seeing their faces light up with a sense of pride is so fulfilling and more than makes up for whatever depression or anxiety I may be going through. Thankfully, I get to coach a few of these athletes again tomorrow morning so that always helps me get my weekend started right. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBSV5nQSBhr/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Other than regulating my breath during a workout and paying attention to when to inhale and exhale during a movement such as a burpee and practicing box breathing, doing some Wim Hoff, and practicing the physiological sigh when needed, I haven’t actively done any breath work like this. Got up to the 0:45 hold then had to stop lest I pass out at my desk. That was the struggle for me… fighting the feeling of passing out. Then again, I misread the rest and did not give myself enough time to recover. If anything, this helped clear my mind and has helped with the post lunch dip.
