Happy New Year 🎆
Hey everyone, Thank you so much for being a part of this community. I am honored by your engagement and support. I started this group so that I could share what I’ve learned with people who don't have the proximity to the source that I’ve been so fortunate to have. I am truly blessed to be guided by Master Rickson on a daily basis. I trust that you have gotten something out of this trial period. I want everyone to have a place where they can feel supported by their peers and find the guidance they’re looking for. Many of you have asked for clear training paths, structure, and access to me so I am building it. More details to come.

Thank you for all your knowledge
BJJ wizardry poll 🧙‍♂️
Be honest. This is a safe space. Select the option that matches your jiu-jitsu powers. This helps me tailor training discussions, drills, and self-defense concepts to the group. Vote so I know who I’m dealing with in here 😄 💬 Drop a comment: • How long you’ve trained • Sport vs self-defense (or both) • Or the belt you feel like on your best/worst day 😏

I have been training for 4 years, the gym I attend is sports bjj but I go over stuff in my head and when I roll as if it were self defense since most of the videos I watch are from Henry Akins, Chris Haueter and SBG videos and they incorporate the self defense aspect in everything. I feel really good about my "defense" Since I have been focusing on nothing but defense for the pas two years. I dont get tapped often But my offense is definitely minimal, other than americanas and a few rear naked chokes have never caught anyone in an arm bar, triangle, kimora or any other of the basic submissions

Preventing the opponent from going to turtle/rolling
I just stumbled across this. I like it, so I'm sharing it. You'll probably recognize someone in the video ;-) https://youtube.com/shorts/NZ4J0WfiXAM?si=XkYRvFRvmmTU01sI

That was a great video, good details will definitely apply this
Focus for the week (mount escape)
Find yourself mounted. Don’t make it obvious that you want to work from the mount. Just let your guard down a little. Then explore that position without any great need to get out. But don’t lay there and be passive either. Feel your way around and try to move in many different ways and analyze the problems that stop you. Be curious and scientific, try lots of stuff, don’t use strength or speed, stay relaxed. Do this with someone who isn’t a meathead at first. But ultimately do it on the meathead too. When the time comes that you need more challenge.
