Frame rate mindset
What frame rate is everyone shooting? Are you switching throughout the day for certain moments or are you sticking to 60fps all day for flexibility in post? What’s your thinking behind it? Do you prefer that natural motion blur at 24fps or do your clients not even notice.

I have my camera programmed so that it's very easy for me to switch between different FPS and other various settings with the push of a button. So with that, I'm usually shooting in 24FPS because I can switch to 60FPS/120FPS in an instant. I plan out the type of shots I know I'll want to be slow motion and build those into my shotlists so I'm not wasting card space with needlessly massive files or missing out on smooth motion blur. While there are ways to make a 60FPS clip look 24FPS, I've never really cared for their results all that much. Slow motion is wonderful, but my opinion is that it could be used in more moderation by a lot of creators. It tends to mask a lack of narrative when overused. To me, that narrative is what gives your films their staying power more than cinematic b-roll. If you use it sparingly, it'll pack a bigger punch. That being said, I've definitely had moments of regret when I realize a lot of my clips are only 24FPS and I'm stuck in that particular sandbox. So maybe I don't really know anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
To gimbal or not to gimbal
Who is can't live without their gimbal? Who refuses anything but handheld? Tripods or Tri-don'ts? "tHeRe'S a PuRpOsE fOr EvErYtHiNg" yea, yea, yea, but what's your preferred way to shoot a wedding? My primary camera does not have IBIS, so I've only ever used it on a gimbal, but I'm falling more in love with the handheld look. Been thinking about making the switch and how I can practice a "steadier" hand.

@James Castaneda How have your handheld results been with it so far? Does it have a cage on it? If not, get yourself a cage, a couple of great handles, and rig that beast out. The weight of the rig acts as a good counterbalance, helping you stabilize footage in a natural way. Another option is purchasing a camera saddle from Sakk (or a cheaper brand, they do the same thing). https://sakkgear.com/collections/camera-saddles. I've used them before and they are clutch.

@James Castaneda Go for the Sakk. To me, the Easy Rig feels like a showy overkill for most productions, particularly weddings and run-n-gun fun. The Sakk (or other items like it) is a great way to essentially get a bootstrap Easy Rig setup for a fraction of the cost. I'm actually getting the inflatable version as we speak (our conversation sparked it) because I travel a lot for work.
All right, I'm curious...
Who are my focus pullers and who are my AFers? IYKYK.

@James Castaneda I love hearing that. Doing something because of a constraint is actually how creativity works best. You developed a skill for yourself that most avoid because they are too afraid.
Gearing up for 2025 pt 2
Just finished a crazy wedding to kick off the second half of 2025 (if we’re not counting all the random weddings we had over the summer that we didn’t account for haha). Anyone got anything they’re excited for in the latter half of this year? Anything you’re working on to help you get prepped for 2026?

As Roger Deakins as my witness, I will conquer the fusion tab of DaVinci Resolve before the year is up. I'm excited for this because I don't like living in fear.

Social Media Posts
How do you find consistency in social media posting without content fatigue?? The obvious answer is “just do it” but you have to your audience in mind. I have the most trouble even though we could easily choose clips. But I only want bangers. Help.

This is coming from the most hypocritical place imaginable, but...just post, my friend. Perfect is the enemy of good, and I see nothing wrong with something being simply "good" on its own merits. It doesn't need any justification for existing in the open other than you enjoyed the act of creating it. People who share from that place are bound to find the right audience.
