Who here plays metal/write and record yourself?

Just realized it's been a while since I've been on here, wow, lol! I like metal and have been working on some stuff, but I haven't done much recording lately. I planned on doing some today, so funny I should see this message. I don't have anything out, however; I'm a one-man show for the moment, and I only have two hands and Ableton Live Lite 12, so kind of limited, haha
my opinion
theres one metal vocalist i feel is most underrated..and that would be Howard Jones..he was lead singer of Killswitch Engage..he had to step down due to his diabetes..he made Killswitch who they are today..their song "End of Heartache" put Killswitch on the map..with his screeching highs and devestating growl could make any foundation tremble..so glad he is being successful with his solo career but i dont hear any commendations for his achievements..take a listen and explore..you may be amazed https://youtu.be/GLoKsrTl2n4?si=lq4zZO6X6LlkC8KL

I honestly didn't like him as much in Killswitch, but that's because I was into Blood Has Been Shed. He was still awesome in Killswitch, but I really liked how Blood Has Been Shed still had that old school Poison the Well vibe going on; Killswitch was just way more melodic.

@Apache Chief I would have to disagree there, I think Jesse is perfect for where they are at now, which is not where I would like them to be, unfortunately. I've always loved his vocals, but now that they've done so many albums, I think they have fallen into the formulaic album pattern that happens to so many bands. I've never seen Taylor or Blythe live, unfortunately, though I would love to, they just never come around where I live and travelling to them can mean a very long few days, haha. If I had the time, I would take it, but I won't for some time to come

@Steve Rempis cool cool, thanks! I haven't heard of Orchid, but I am familiar with Sleep and Fu Manchu, just not really familiar

@Zebediah Rose Coheed and Cambria are definitely one of my favorite groups. I tend to the much heavier side of prog, stuff like Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, The Contortionist, Protest the Hero, but something about Coheed sucks me in every time, lol

@Andrew Wilkes yes he does, lol! Guy does stuff with that trem bar that would make Herman Li from Dragonforce jealous! I've seen Dragonforce live, too, right when Through the Fire and the Flames got huge, and those guys are fantastic as well, but Adrian is on a whole different level.

@Andrew Wilkes he played with King Crimson, Frank Zappa (who told him to just go hogwild and do his thing), The Talking Heads, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails on The Downward Spiral, the list goes on. He's also done session work for who knows how many people, pretty wild career

Sweet! If I win, maybe I can Frankenstein one of my other guitars and turn it into a baritone! And since I'm not a luthier or guitar tech, I really mean just buy a set of strings for a 7-string and run it b to B, lol
