I’ve always had a bit of a love affair with paper 🙈 Some people collect shoes, books or ornaments… I collect paper. Handmade paper, textured paper, old paper, papers with stories tucked inside their fibres. There’s something quietly magical about taking what has been discarded 🥰 scraps, petals, leaves, old bits once forgotten. mulching it all down and turning it into something new. Soft pulp, water, patience, a sieve… and suddenly there it is. A fresh sheet, completely unique and full of character. 🙌🏻💗 I think that’s why I love the process so much. It reminds me that beautiful things can be made from what was once overlooked. Some pieces have delicate flowers resting inside , held forever in their new home. I picked up my journal from 2 years ago today and was leafing through it when I read this. It made me stop in my tracks. I had to share it with you ….. There’s something I’ve been reminding myself of lately…it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be forward. Small steps, big steps as long as they’re in the right direction, they count.Even when life wobbles or takes an unexpected turn, I’m learning to stay committed to myself. I’m building something quietly.Behind closed doors, where not everything needs to be seen or understood yet. I’m choosing growth over fear.Surrounding myself with people who add, not take.Learning to receive without guilt.And taking full responsibility for the life I’m creating. There’s still a bit of fear there… but I can feel it I’m stronger now. And sometimes, that’s more than enough to keep going 💛 It’s amazing to see how far I’ve come and the progress I’ve made. This is why keeping a journal is such a beautifully simple thing to do. It captures a time that has gone before 💜🙌🏻
