Floor is lava challenge
I went to the park after work…..So much to do but of course, I had to go with L-sits🤭 Is it weird enough for the challenge? 😂 Or i just turn any challenge into an L-sit challenge!😂 It was too funny not to share, just gotta have fun! Btw, the video is sped up...and can't go wrong with a bit of Mötley Crūe today!

Genius Val! I’ve been trying to think of something clever for the challenge. And your L sits are impressive 💪 on the Crue ship!
Sunday yoga pose
It's been a couple of weeks since I've taken the time to enjoy a new pose! It's such a great way to test out my mobility and work my body in different ways😊 This is the funky lizard pose 🦎 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DR67VudD2/

@Val Mercier well it’s inspirational! I really damaged my hips in my youth, to the point I had to have one replaced, so now I don’t take flexibility for granted. Yoga has really helped me in that endeavour, I can’t imagine how stiff and weak I’d be without it. So seeing your example really helps keep me motivated to keep pushing

@Val Mercier my hips are definitely saying something alright, but I’m pretty sure it’s not thank you. You know what they say: spare the pigeon pose, spoil the hip flexors
Handstand baseline
Inspired by every one of you on here posting amazing wins, yesterday I cycled out to Dublin’s first ever Calisthenics park to see what it was about. It had a wall to practice handstands, lovely soft wood chips, and nothing breakable in the vicinity so I decided to see if I could kick up into any sort of handstand. Lo and behold, after a few attempts, I figured out the energy and momentum needed and got both feet up over my head. It wasn’t in the least bit pretty but it felt amazing, and I even managed to hold it for a few seconds (I didn’t video it so you’ll just have to trust me 😉). Now I’ve just watched @Zara Doering ‘s handstand, I will practice that to get used to being upside down. And I’m also going to practice crow to improve my balance as @Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert recommends. Any other tips or advice welcome!

@Val Mercier and it was proper summer weather too. Which can be tricky to time in Ireland so that’s a win too!

@Brandon Beauchesne-Hebert wow! Thank you! A veritable wall standing masterplan. I’ve just realised this door in my back garden is the perfect spot for me to practice. I’ll also work on roping in an assistant to help me with documenting my progress.
Bouncing back
I was cleared by the physio to get back into handstands so today I celebrated with my first wall handstand hold in 3 months 🥳 The goal today was to get used to the feeling of being upside down again and regain some confidence. It feels like I’m restarting my journey but I’m happy to be back at it 😊

📚 Challenge Week Check-In
This was definitely a more information-heavy challenge week than usual 😅 We covered a lot. Not just one topic, but a bunch of different skills, ideas, progressions, and ways to think about training. So now I want to ask 2 things: ✅ 1. Did you enjoy this style of challenge? Did you like having: • a full post each day • a deeper breakdown • more coach perspective • more things to learn and think about And more importantly… Did you actually do something related to each post during the day, even if it was really small? That could mean: • 5 seconds of handstand work • one compression drill • one stretch • one set of pull-ups • one skill attempt • even just testing something for a minute Because that was really the goal. Not to read more. To read something useful and then take action on it. 👀 2. Quality check Also, quick quality check: Since every single one of these posts and documents gets made within a timeline, there is always a chance there could still be: • a small mistake • a wording issue • something unclear • something you want explained better • something I missed So if you noticed anything like that, please say so. That helps me improve the next ones and make the resources even better for everyone. 🎯 Final question So let me know: • Did you enjoy this kind of challenge week? • Did you do something from each post, even if it was small? • Was there any post or document you want cleaned up, fixed, or expanded? I’d love to hear what worked, what didn’t, and what you want more of.
