We have a higher end thrift store here sponsored by the local Junior League chapter which is filled with brand name items. I found out that the members are required to donate monthly and have a minimum amount they are required to donate. Well it’s worth the occasional visit as there are some good finds and as I continue my weigh loss journey, I’m able to fit into more of the options. This past weekend, I visited and found these like new Allen Edmonds for a steal. I like the two toned color, allowing me to show personality while keeping with in professional footwear.

Most people think playing Santa is about the suit. It’s not. It’s about responsibility. When I step into that role, I’m not pretending. I’m showing up for kids who still believe in something bigger than noise and screens. I’m showing up for parents who need their kids to feel safe, seen, and joyful, even if just for a moment. From my own life, I know what it feels like when someone shows up for you without asking for anything in return. That’s what Santa represents to me — presence, consistency, and quiet leadership. It’s not about being jolly. It’s about being steady. I don’t take that lightly. Never have. Never will. Grateful for the kids, the families, and the chance to be part of something that still matters.

One of my favorite services is when Lorelei Kaiser Barton brings her harp. She comes every second Sunday of Advent.- the sanctuary is all decorated, the advent music is in full swing, and her immense talent just makes it very special. Always a great Sunday. Todays’s OOTD was inspired by my wife (sorry no pic). She wore a green sweater and a green and navy tartan trouser so I thought I would get into the season spirit with a deep red Harold’s cotton V neck and a tartan silk tie. On this cold morning went with my grey flannel trousers again and my MTM lambswool houndstooth sportcoat. Green black and navy pocket square to harmonize with the tie. Acadia National Park Pendleton socks, 1982 Cole Haan Waxhide loafers and a Seiko model 5 watch. Happy 2nd week of Advent gentlemen.

Stuck with the same shirt and trousers as this afternoon's OOTD to build this outfit. I added a brown soft shoulder blazer, sailboat tie, blue/tan/brown PS, Cole Haan brogues, and a wool overcoat to complete the look.

New employee starts working with me in our Torrance office today. I found that detailing a dress code can be tricky when it's "you don't need to dress as formally as I do, but there is a minimum of X, Y, and Z". Today's outfit is: Shirt: Paul Fredrick button-down white dress with purple accents Slacks: Hart Shaffer & Marx suit separate in black Tie: Unnamed silk tie from a small vendor in Venice, purple with deep lavender micro lines Belt: Hanks Belt in black Vest: Hugo Boss odd vest in black Shoes: Stacy Adams black cap-toe Oxfords Dress Socks: Southern Scholar deep violet with textured static pattern The beginning of a new expansion for the company today. Very excited!
