My aluminum chicken feeder broke, so I drilled new holes and added new nuts and bolts. I saved myself $30 and a trip into town to Tractor Supply! Is anyone working on any little...or big...projects right now?

Starting to expand the chicken coop a little... have new door hung... will get the chicken wire on Thursday or Friday...

@Paula Boggan I use hardware cloth bottom 2' on top of the plastic coated chicken wire. I put chicken wire up and then put hardware cloth 2' up and 2' out level with the ground and then cover with dirt. I have my support legs 4' apart... so far secure but I do understand different animal pressures depending where you live.

I'm back!
I'm sorry I disappeared for a bit, but I've been sick as a dog! I've also had to work every day through it. The worst. Luckily, I have plenty of dried mullein for tea. It's so great for breaking up the lung funk that comes with illness. What are your go-to remedies?

Absolutely mullein to sooth respiratory track and lungs in all tea blends, ginger for warmth, turmeric for joints, tulsi for balance, gotu kola alertness and looking at thyme and elecampane currently as an expectorant... and cleavers for lymphatic movement in the sluggish winter months...

Last Harvest
I picked all the cherry tomatoes and some green onions before the hard freeze came last night. It was 22*F, so everything got a little freezer burned! Does anyone still have things growing in your garden? What zones are you all in?

I did the pumpkin thing with my chickens and it worked. š Carve off the top layer of your design and let the chickens peck out the rest. I'll put it in their run so they can work on it a little longer.
