pullup help
I just got a pullup bar today and have zero pull strength, so what progressions can I do to improve? Also what grip is the best because after trying to dead hang a lot, my hands have gotten blisters.

gaining weight
I’m 14 years old and underweight so I want to make a change, I’ve been trying to do calisthenics inconsistently for a month but never commited. Ive improved a lot from being barely able to do a pushup to around 13 now and just started trying to frogstand and tucked l-sits. And I just ordered a pullup bar so I can do more exercises now! But I really just want to gain weight so diets the main thing. Still I can’t exactly switch my dinner since I eat the same thing as my family (i can eat more but ngl we order takeout a lot since my parents are busy so set portion sizes and not the healthiest). However I can change my breakfast and just add things to eat throughout the day, so please give advice on what to eat. I currently eat cereal but is like 3 eggs n toast a good substitute? And I cld snacking on nuts throughout the day or take that to school. (please give snack ideas). And also does anybody have shake recommendations for without protein powder - then do i have it after dinner or when? Sorry for the constant questions but I’m just confused about diet and rather than swapping things I mainly want to add stuff (like more snacks, shakes etc). But I’m worried all of this will just end up as fat and not muscle. I’ve made posts before with questions, but I genuinely want to make a change now and I’m getting a pullupbar too which is all i really need for equipment. I js hope I stay consistent.. Introduction
Hey, my name's Jaden and I'm 14 years old. I'm currently underweight and looking to make a change. I know that eating enough calories and protein is the main part if I want to gain weight, but I don't have access to meal prepping or consistently nutritious meals. So I'm wondering - does it still make sense to work out if I'm not eating enough? I've been doing the beginner routine from this community and some basic bodyweight exercises for the past few months, although a bit inconsistently. I’ve gained a little bit of weight, but it feels slow since again not really eating enough. Also, I don’t have a pull-up bar. Is it okay to stick with other bodyweight exercises, or is a pull-up bar essential for real progress? Just wanted to introduce myself and get some advice - thank you for reading!
