Donkey Packs
I am looking to start training some of my donkeys to carry a pack. Looking at the gear at Mountain Ridge Outfitters and Outfitters Pack Station. Are there any other sources? The ideal situation would be for it to fit a 37" up to a 45" standard. Thanks

HELP!
I just got a high heat watch predicted for next Wed and Thurs. One forecast said 106F but I think that’s at a lower elevation than me. My area is high elevation and predicted for high 90s like 98 on Friday. My donkeys still have their winter coat. For God sakes, it’s freaking March😱😱! Does anyone have any suggestions to keep them cool during those 3 days? So far we have occasionally hit the mid-80s. They have a run in shed and usually stay there when it’s hot. We will be gone on one of those days go figure probably will be 110F where we’re going.

In the east we are looking at temps in the teens after weeks of 50-70 degrees. Good luck!
Brrrr…winter
I live in an area that gets very cold. The first year I put blankets on my donks, but every year after that, they refused. Both grow an amazing winter coat and we have seen -35 and they were fine. No shivering, no frost bite like I feared. Donkeys are amazing and way more adaptable than I imagined.

I have blankets for my 7 standards - primarily for young ones and when it is wet and temps dropping swiftly. I doubt I will use them again. 2 boys that reside together ripped them off pretty quick and a Mom got hers off - I don't know how but all straps were still attached! I am thinking that they are more of a danger than they are worth - at least for my standards in far SW VA - near Kentucky. I checked everyone 4 times a day and no shivering, no bad effects at all except boredom. Everyone has a 3.5 sided unheated structure and the 2 boys had a walk in stall. We had lots of very cold weather down to single digits this year, and it persisted for weeks.
Episode 7 - Donkey King - Toe-tal Transformation
After spotting a social media post, Ron buys two donkeys online — with a credit card. One arrives with the worst hooves Ron and Megan, the lead farrier, have ever seen. Juniper’s feet are so deformed that even X-rays are a challenge. When images finally come through, Dr. Cronin confirms the condition is likely painful, although there’s no arthritis. Megan trims down some of the hooves, and soon after, Dr. Kerry delivers bloodwork results: unfortunately, Juniper has Cushing’s Disease. The silver lining is that it is treatable. After an exhausting week caring for Juniper and Willie Dallas, Ron and Megan visit Snow White, one of their most beloved donkeys they ever adopted out. Snow White brays and walks straight up to Megan and Ron. Seeing her thrive with her new family, helps give the team exactly the boost they needed.

Great show! You got a lot of screen time and did great! Oscar's comments on Juniper in the follow up video are really, really worth watching as well.
