You’re Rebalancing Your Brain Chemistry
Alcohol hijacks dopamine. Sobriety restores it — slowly and safely. 👇 Today’s Focus: - What healthy dopamine can you add?(Movement, sunlight, music, connection, accomplishment) We’re teaching your brain new rewards.

@Heidi Cook Music and movement! Also, small little tasks getting done brings a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with self. I like to call it…chipping away whenever I may be feeling overwhelmed or stuck. (Music also helps with this) 💪💛
What Are You Really Trying to Escape?
Alcohol isn’t about alcohol. It’s about relief. Today we’re getting honest. 👇 Prompt: - When the urge hits, what emotion is underneath it?(Stress, loneliness, overwhelm, resentment, boredom?) Name it. What you name, you can change.

For me it’s gambling, but I’d say relief of restlessness and/or boredom. Put the two together and that’s me! lol
Cravings Are a Brain Event, Not a Command
Cravings are just your brain asking for a familiar reward. They rise, peak, and fall — even when you don’t drink. 👇 Check-In: - When a craving shows up, what does it say? - What happens when you pause instead of react? Awareness = freedom.

I’m not always sure what the craving says but I know it can be hella loud and very commanding like you said! I love the idea of the counter to the command, calling it out for what it really is…” just another brain event.” Expose it for what it is! The hope is that eventually it quiets down because you ain’t giving it what it wants! 😁💪💛
What did you do instead?
Every time you don’t drink, you’re rewiring your brain. Tell us: What did you do instead of drinking this week? No win is too small!

@Heidi Cook wow. Yes! Thank you for sharing. 🙏✨ I guess the question is…what are we replacing OR avoiding with these potentially unhealthy behaviors…

Love it! Structure is key for me! It keeps me on track and/or aligned with my highest self.
