Acoustic Board
So I posted recently that I was putting a dual purpose board together. Well, I changed my mind and decided to go with just an acoustic board. Mainly bc I have a great modeler I can run with my Mesa V-Twin and then also the logistics of adding and removing pedals on a regular basis. Most pedals i already owned. Had to wait on the PolyTune mini bc they had it on back order. But this the result. Now contemplating what to put in the empty spaces. Thinking an Octave pedal, but open to suggestions. Have room for one Standard sized pedal and one mini pedal. Mini I would prefer to be pre-Pre Amp. Standard sized pedal would go thru the effects loop with other effects. Love to see other people acoustic boards for inspiration

@Billy T Scrapper no biggie. That’s one of the octaves I have been considering, if that’s the route I go. Also considering Pog Nano. Honestly I think it will depend on if I place it pre-preamp in the mini space or in the loop with the others. I’m use to placing stuff like this early in the chain. But that can be done in the loop as well
Gretsch Rancher Jr.
Bought a Gretsch Rancher Jr acoustic-Electric this evening. As stated in a previous post I was looking for something solid that I could gig with. Was pleased with how full bodied this thing sounds. The neck feels more like an electric. Big enough to make a huge sound but small enough not to be cumbersome. I love my ‘64 Epiphone Texan but it’s a big guitar. My case reminds me of a cello case. This is a lot easier to handle. Great sounding pickup. It has a Fishman preamp in it. Great looking and sounding guitar. From the Thumbnail markers, the stock locking strap buttons, triangular sound hole and steer logo. This thing is a sharp. Total eye catcher

Pedals
I’m looking for opinions for my grandson’s birthday present this year. He wants pedals. I’m trying to find the right pedals for a 12 year old? Do I go with some individual pedals or a single multi-effects pedal?? If I choose one or the other, which ones should I choose for him?? Opinions please!!!

The Headrush MX5 is a great option for a person new to pedals. It’s a lot more intuitive than other multi effects bc u can see the pedal chain ur building and it has a drag and drop touchscreen
Dream gear
If you were given $15k, to be used only for musical gear, what would you spend it on? Mine would probably be a McPherson. I held and played one and fell in love with it.

@Doug DeLuca This is my prized acoustic. I love playing it. It’s aged perfectly. I know it’s fairly minimally invasive, but I just can’t get myself to put in an end pin jack. Only options are mic’n it or a soundhole pickup. I have a decent Fishman soundhole pickup but I don’t like the wire hanging down the front and it rubs on the finish. If it were a different acoustic, that wouldn’t bother me. I’ve seen a couple models that claim to have decent systems , but have mixed reviews. I might just have to retire it from stage playing and just enjoy it at home and get a new electric/acoustic. I have an Ibanez Talman acoustic which is okay, but it’s not a serious acoustic. I play out enough where I need a workhorse Im always coming up with new things to get. My choices tho are more based on changing my studio and gig rigs. I have a couple half stacks. No combo amps. I’m playing ampless a lot. So I’m really wanting to change up my audio situation. And Amps that make sense for now. A White Falcon is my dream guitar. Don’t think it’s super my style… but they always have caught my eye so a long time want.

@Jordan Oster if you don’t have the funds for a Dual Rec, Mesa Boogie V-Twin is a decent option. You can usually still pick one up for about $300-400. Not cheap, but cheaper than a Dual Rec
Dual Purpose board
Been planning out a board that I’ll mainly use as an acoustic board but will be able to be used as an electric board as well with a switching out of preamps. The acoustic board would go XLR direct to the mix. The electric would go to my utility board with Cab Sims/DIs going either stereo or mono to the board depending on stage I’m playing. Have all the pedals and board except for the PolyTune is on order The schematics for both signal chains and the Utility board.
