@Freedom Bunabaifa Great question. For me, it’s about making genuine connections with people—and most importantly, following up after the event to continue the conversation. That’s how you build relationship currency—a network rooted in trust and familiarity, not just transactions or business cards. I actually just shared a quick post on this a few minutes ago if you’re interested: https://www.skool.com/eprosperityhub/the-real-power-of-networking-happens-after-the-event?p=eda15ad2
The Real Power of Networking Happens "After" the Event
Last night (Friday), I attended a local networking event. Good conversations. Solid connections. No pitching. This Saturday morning—less than 14 hours later—I sent a simple follow-up email. Not a sales message. Not a hard CTA. Just a genuine note to continue the conversation and a reminder about the Hub we discussed. Result? 👉 One person booked time on my calendar for this coming Monday. Here’s the lesson most people miss: Networking doesn’t work in the room. It works in the follow-up. My approach is simple: - Lead with a genuine compliment - Find common ground - Detach from the outcome - Follow up while the conversation is still fresh People don’t want to be sold. They want to reconnect with someone they enjoyed talking to. That 12–14 hour follow-up window is where relationships turn into momentum. Collecting business cards is easy. Building relationship currency takes intention. And that’s where real growth begins.

The Real Power of Networking Happens "After" the Event
The Yearly Event That Transformed Patients, Staff & Vendors Into a Growth Engine
About thirteen years ago, I started working with a world-renowned diabetes and endocrinology specialist in Birmingham, Michigan. Back then, I owned a digital marketing agency, and I helped level up his online presence. We ended up working together for ten years — yes, a full decade. The only reason our work ended was because his daughter opened her own marketing agency. And look… you don’t compete with family. So we wrapped things up about three years ago. Early in the relationship, I asked him if he ever held patient appreciation events. To my surprise, he said yes — every May or June. Mediterranean food catered. All his suppliers and vendors invited. Booths set up. And whether it rained or shined, they had covered parking ready so nothing slowed the momentum. Now… why am I telling you this story? Because this was a brilliant strategy for creating Business Superfans® — the equivalent of die-hard sport-teams superfans (faces painted, team jerseys...) not just from patients, but from staff, suppliers, and vendors at the exact same time. Let me break it down, because I attended these events personally and helped him turn them into growth engines. The patients, the clinic team, and all the suppliers came together in one place.Patients enjoyed a healthy lunch, connected with staff outside the typical office visit, and met the vendors to learn about the products and services that support their care. Vendors got face time with patients and the clinic team — deepening relationships and strengthening trust. And of course, everyone got access to Dr. G in a relaxed, human environment… which made loyalty skyrocket. So how did we leverage this moment for mutual benefit? 1. We captured video testimonials from patients every single year — two to four high-quality stories each time. 2. We captured testimonials from vendors about their experience working with the clinic. 3. And we captured testimonials from the clinic about their vendors — building goodwill and strengthening partnerships.

🎙️ Episode Summary (Ep 169 – Curt Tueffert, Peak Performance)
In this episode of The Business Superfans Podcast, Freddy D sits down with Curt Tueffert, founder of Peak Sales Strategy, to unpack four decades of real-world sales experience and why coaching, mindset, and adaptability matter more than ever. Together, they explore how elite sales performance comes from understanding people first, mastering discovery, and continuously “leveling up” through training, self-awareness, and behavioral insight. 🔑 Top 5 Takeaways 1️⃣ Sales success starts with solving the customer’s problem, not pitching features or price. 2️⃣ Behavioral styles (DISC) matter — the best sales pros flex how they communicate, not who they are. 3️⃣ Coaching isn’t optional: just like sports, peak performance requires constant practice and tune-ups. 4️⃣ Not everyone can be coached — sometimes the right move is to change people, not try to change people. 5️⃣ Old-school follow-up (cards, notes, personal touch) still works powerfully in a digital, AI-driven world. 💬 Best Guest Quote“If you can’t change people, change people.” — Curt Tueffert 🎯 Freddy D’s TakeThe moment salespeople stop selling “stuff” and start helping customers achieve their goals, trust replaces resistance — and that’s when superfans are created. Sales mastery isn’t about pressure; it’s about perspective. 🚀 Best Call to ActionLevel up your sales game: invest in coaching, refresh your fundamentals, and learn how to adapt your approach to different personalities instead of relying on one-size-fits-all tactics.
