A Little Easter Symbolism (Farmers Almanac)
Why are Easter eggs, bunnies, and lambs all symbols of this springtime holiday? 🥚🐰🐑 Many Easter traditions have fascinating histories. But what do these symbols actually mean? The rabbit symbolism had its origin in pre-Christian fertility lore, while the hare was the Egyptian symbol of fertility. The ancient Greeks thought that rabbits could reproduce as virgins, and in the early medieval times, the rabbit became associated with the Virgin Mary and commonly appeared in medieval art. However, the Easter Bunny, who visits children on Easter morning, was an invention of German Protestants; the Osterhase, or Easter Hare, brought eggs and sweets to good children, in the same way that Santa Claus brought gifts to well-behaved youngsters. The Easter Bunny followed German immigrants to the American colonies in the 18th century, and the folklore spread across the United States. Initially, children fashioned nests for their Easter bunnies out of bonnets, hats, or boxes; eventually, these became the colorful Easter baskets that we use today! What traditions do you bring to this special day? Happy Easter! 🥚 🐰 🌷

I knew a little about the bunny/hare and I thought of that this morning as I was driving back from the beach. The gospel hour came on, on the station I was listening to, and the host said (very haughtily) “Happy Resurrection Day, or Easter! And bunnies have nothing to do with the day.” I was like, oh sweetie you have no idea….

@Jennie Sikes the beach is always good and relaxing… even with the great pollening that’s starting up.
Rest is Part of the Work
Rest isn’t something you earn after growth, it's needed in order to grow. When you’re developing spiritually - tuning into intuition, noticing signs, processing emotions - you’re using energy in ways you may not even realize. That can show up as mental fatigue, emotional waves, or just feeling “off.” This is where rest comes in. Not just sleep… but different kinds of rest: - Quieting the mind - Stepping away from noise and input - Being around (or away from) people intentionally (not isolation, but giving yourself a break) - Letting yourself feel without filtering - Reconnecting to something bigger than the day-to-day - Allowing creativity and stillness back in Rest creates space and in that space, that is where clarity, insight, and alignment actually come to fruition. If things feel heavy or unclear lately… it might not be that you need to do more. You might just need to rest. What type of rest are you needing most right now?

@Stephanie Pick that’s me as well. I’m a sociable introvert.

I’m going to the beach by myself this weekend to just sit still. Last weekend I partied… this weekend not.
Sacred Guide Series: Archangel Sandalphon
A very tall angel with a copper aura, Sandalphon is the twin brother of Metatron. He is an angel of music, a master of song. He didn’t start out as an angel. He lived and walked on this earth as a human, the prophet Elijah, and when it came time to pass, he was taken up into Heaven and made an archangel. Therefore, Archangel Sandalphon can help us connect with God and the angels in a level-headed and grounded way. He helps us claim and own our destiny, and he carries our positive thoughts, prayers, and intentions to Heaven. For me, I know Archangel Sandalphon is near when songs keep playing in my head during my prayer/meditation/devotion time and won’t leave, no matter how much I try to clear them. I am grateful to have him as an ally.

I noticed it was while I was considering a bold and somewhat scary step forward.

@Jennie Sikes not yet but he keeps popping up in my daily meditations so I definitely will be. He’s the other archangel who was once a human, in this case Enoch. Metatron and Sandalphon are often considered twins. If I remember correctly, he now keeps record of all that is, was, and will ever be. He can help us clear our vibes, bend time so we can accomplish our tasks, and is associated with the Akashic records. But again, I’m saying that from memory. I need to research and make sure I’m clear.
