I wanted to take a moment to recognize all the amazing Father's inside this community! For those Dad's wanting to share, post any photos of you shooting with your kids!
I started bowhunting in 1972 with a 45# recurve (Browning I think) then got a Shakespeare 55# recurve before a series of Bear Grizzly recurves. Later, I went to compounds... long series of those... but I love the recurve bow and the simple pleasures of shooting. I taught my son with my Bear recurves. That was where I started. I grew up on whitetails in southeastern Virginia, but was introduced to elk hunting in Colorado in the early 1990s. I now live in northern New Mexico - partly because I hoped it would mean more regular resident elk tags (not so much in reality given the NM draw process). Shooting my recurves is just something I love doing... pretty good with whitetails, not yet so much with elk, and about to go on my very first mule deer hunt in September in NM.
New Mexico. I grew up bowhunting whitetails in Virginia, but came to love western bowhunting - elk mainly. This year, I drew my very first NM mule deer tag so that will be an adventure.
