My Starter Post
Why save money on taxes? Because I worked hard to earn it and therefore I want to keep as much money as I can. I can use the money to buy more properties and or business and create generational wealth for my kids. Where am I in my Journey? I currently own four long term rental properties and I am looking to buy my fifth one early in 2026, but wish I new about tax strategies a lot sooner My big domino? I would like to connect with more investor minded individuals that have done many deals before and have the experiences that I did not have when I started investing in real estate since doing 20% in each deal may be the naive way to go about it.
Entity Setup
@Ryan Bakke, CPA - In one of your entity setup videos, you mentioned that if someone has a few rental properties and a minimum net worth, they should consider setting up a revocable trust with a holding LLC underneath it, and then place the individual property LLCs under that structure. Can you explain why the holding LLC is necessary? Why not just have the individual property LLCs directly under the trust?

@Ryan Bakke, CPA from the pod cast I also learned that the other benefit is that you only need to do one tax return regardless of how many properties you have and regardless of the States they are in. Is this correct Ryan?
Tax Strategies
Hi Ryan, I have actually learned a few things from following you. Strategies, such as, how to hire my 11 year-old child to work in the day-to-day operations/management of the LTRs we have. I listened to your podcast on this followed and implemented it. Also, once I stopped working I listened to your podcast on RE Pro and it just prompted me to investigate it in more depth so that I can focus on getting it implemented. Another strategy, how to use cost segregation and bonus depreciation especially in a high tax bracket to reduce tax liability. Do you have a podcast on how to buy your first STR? Are they still profitable? I want to send it to my daughter. Thank you.
