Help needed
So, an agency reached out to me to create 2x30sec videos + 2x5sec hooks, and the video will be used as an ad, but they will do the editing in-house. In this case, should I include the usage rights in my rate?

@Jana Wilkin Hi Jana. I must confess that I've been lucky because all of my UGC deals were from inbounds, so I haven't really done pitching yet. However, some info that I gathered regarding this is: - Write them on Instagram/Tiktok and ask for the marketing department email address - Find it on Linkedin - Try Bento - Write on the email address that's on their website and ask them to send you the marketing department email address or forward your email to them Wishing you the best!

Hi! Would you take a job to create a video testimonial about having type 2 diabetes? I do promote myself as an over 40 UGC creator, but I don't have type 2 diabetes.

Personally, no. I understand that every inbound opportunity is valuable, especially when you're just starting out as a UGC creator. However, I believe in staying true to our values and maintaining ethical standards in our work. I think it's important to recognize when a project isn't a good fit and respectfully move on to ones that align better with your own story and expertise. :)

What was your first paid deal experience like?
Hi all, I'm Josie, a UGC newbie based in Czechia, Europe. I've started reaching out to brands and I was wondering what people's first paid jobs looked like. How much did you get paid? What kind of a brand was it? (Small/big) Did they know you were a beginner? Was it an inbound or an outbound situation? A smaller cosmetics brand paid me 150€ to create 2 videos (same footage, just different languages). They found my videos on TikTok and reached out to me. 😊

Reaching out to brands via email
When contacting brands via email, do you typically use their general customer support address and request that your email be forwarded to the appropriate team, or do you send it to their marketing-specific email address? If the latter, how do you find those email addresses?
