Good to be back in the woods.
Spent part of the afternoon getting feet on the ground in an area I hadn't stepped in for over 2 years. Setup a fake licking branch by hanging a cut wild grape vine with a rope and made a scrape under it. Added a camera and we'll see what lurks in these woods this year. I never caught up with his old giant pictured here in December 2023 believed to be 8.5 years old since having photos of him from 2019 and possibly earlier. I doubt he's still around but you never know. Ever snap of a stick or glimpe of movement for years I thought it was him coming in. Always outsmarted by him.
Good to be back in the woods.

He seems a bit annoyed. Lol. I freshened his scrape 😉 He is very weak on his left. But 🏹 if I get the chance. Can’t shoot bucks yet in my zone until 10/04.
Bowhunting Deer Tips
Low light practice is crucial for Bowhunting. Shoot how you will hunt and under the same conditions as well.. 🌙☀️ ⛅️🌤️ Low light conditions change depth perception and focus- use the same clothing to practice with you'll be hunting in as well! Who is getting ready for deer season?! 🦌🦌🌲 And what time of day do you prefer to hunt! 🏹 Leave a comment & hit up the survey! ⬇️ Cheers! - Grant

I hunt all day the first two weeks in November, but early season I only do evening hunts after work
Anchor! How long do you hold?!
As long or short as you need!! For myself it really is hunting shot dependant. For birds like pheasant I will shoot with a very short exposure- leave a comment below! Happy weekend to everyone! -Grant

Not sure how long it takes to get the shot off. I use a clicker Once I decide I’m shooting, I pick my spot, focus, come to my anchor, continue to focus as my back muscles pull through the clicker. Maybe once anchored in, 3/5 seconds.
What to do
40 lb @ 28 inch draw .. my draw is 28 30 inches long .. 400 spine 150 grain point weight..

As Grant said the right pic looks like the arrows are tuned. How far are the shots?
