#BreakingNews - Co Regulation over Self Regulation
Trauma healing isn’t about learning to self-regulate harder. It’s about being allowed to co-regulate first. So many of us are told: “Just calm yourself.” “Use your tools.” “Breathe through it.” But trauma is often formed in isolation, danger, or relational rupture. Asking a dysregulated nervous system to self-regulate on its own can feel impossible — and that’s not a failure. It’s biology. Before we can self-regulate, we need co-regulation. Co-regulation is: being with someone who feels steady being seen without being fixed having your emotions met, not managed feeling safe enough for your nervous system to borrow calm This is how regulation is learned — especially when it wasn’t available early on. Self-regulation is not the starting point. It’s the outcome. You’re not meant to do this alone, so how about doing it with us? Virtual Trauma Therapy With love, Chris ❤️

Virtual Trauma Therapy's Peer Support Community #FeatureStory
This community began as a space for people I had worked with as a therapist, offering ongoing, long-term community support during and after therapy. Over time, we collectively chose to open it to the wider world, because it became clear that this kind of space could be deeply supportive for many more people. I hold a strong frustration that therapy remains inaccessible to so many. Trauma healing should be human, relational, and community-based, not something reserved for a few. That is why our beautiful community exists. You don’t need to be healed. You belong as you are.❤️ Virtual Trauma Therapy

Virtual Trauma Therapy's Peer Support Community - The #Headline
Who we are: A peer support community that offers connection, understanding, learning, and steadiness for people impacted by trauma. Who is this community for: Healing here is gentle, relational, and paced. We believe safety grows through being seen, having choice, and knowing you don’t have to carry things alone. Some days that looks like sharing. Other days it looks like quietly reading, resting, or just being present. You are welcome whether you’re actively healing, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, numb, curious, or unsure where you are in your journey. There is no expectation to perform healing — only space to be human. You can join for free here: Virtual Trauma Therapy With love, Chris ❤️
