What is the biggest let down aquisition you've experienced? Conversly, what is the best come up aquisition you've experienced?

Best is my Fender Scorpion, which i acquired for a really good price. Worst is an acoustic-electric bass that just wasn't loud enough. Switched it out for a nice electric.

Pro vs amateur?
Would love to know how many of you are playing out - solo or in a band? Anyone here do open mic events? Or are you just practicing and playing for fun? Personally, I have sang in several bands, but have recently begun playing some originals (guitar and vox) at open mics.

Sometimes when the stresses of the work week get to me, I need to remind myself of this. Playing, for me, is cathartic.
