Introducing TimeWise: The Four Arenas of Human Time
If you have been following along, you've likely noticed that I have been gesturing towards a new movement happening here at Monk Manual. Our tools aren't going away. We are just going deeper. We want to help people build a new foundation for their time and work, and by extension a new foundation for their life. Across my work with individuals over the past 8 years, a pattern has emerged. The real work for individuals is not time management. The real work for individuals is time leadership. "Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things" - Peter Drucker Moving forward, as we enter into the early phases of a new industrial revolution through AI, the Monk Manual exists to provide an alternative to commodity-based time and work. We want to provide a bridge for people to move from a life built for machines, to a life built for humans. This feels timely and important. We've just released the foundational videos for TimeWise in the classroom. I hope you'll take some time to check them out. Link underneath. https://www.skool.com/being-doing-club-6723/classroom/f3535435?md=2d1d48db46b941569119aac6e73ef32d Let me know what resonates below. This is the beginning of something new.

Well. This is great. My state at the moment is "puzzled". Just thinking about this. Having g left full time "work" I have Kairos written on all my take everywhere notebooks. Thank you Steven. Very much.

Look back on 2025, to look forward on 2026 (New Workshop)
Next week, I'm hosting a free live workshop to help Basecamp members step into the next version of their life in 2026. The topic is... <Slow Down to Speed Up> How Reflection Makes You More Effective (Especially When Life Is Moving Fast!) This is a new workshop, it's free, and you will certainly walk away with a clearer sense of where you want to orient in 2026. It's the perfect pause before the holiday rush. The link to join the workshop is in the calendar. Hope to see you there.

This is it. I reckon a MM version could be nice. This is planner not journal. The weddings, the holidays, the parties, the rest weeksnds. Visual.

I did not get to all the workshop. But very amazing. I use a tiny notebook for capture and my daily schedule. It's a 3B1 code in our country. 20c on special. It's more on the planner rather than journal/reflection function. I have those little fleeting thoughts you describe Steven. My aim. To 1. Be more intentional to listen and 2. Capture in my notebook. 3. Ponder, unpack and reflect. 3 is the hard part. Thank you all.
Excited
Over the last few months I've been completing a diploma in Pastoral Supervision and Reflective Practice. What I've learned has already been having am impact in my spiritual direction practice with directees, as well as closer to home too. Much of that spills over into the thoughts shared on this space here. Oftentimes I've pondered what we have been considering about going 'beyond productivity' and Steven's announcement for next year is really exciting. It has seemed like the world has accelerated all the more since covid and AI. The little 'accidents' that result in life lived at such speed have taken further root: burnout, sickness, trauma... I'm curious to know how we can encourage others to think outside the box with us, without those people who 'treasure' their uber-productive approach (or feel trapped in its grasp) just responding with an accusation that this is just idealism or a 'nice to have' but its not the real world where 'no pain, no gain' and the hustle is still so central to the western mindset?

Intro
Hey everyone, wanted to briefly introduce myself and (hopefully) get some insight from the group. I live and work in Overland Park, Kansas. My wife and I started our own physical therapy practice 8 years ago in our garage gym and now have a free-standing location with 2 other employees and were recently recognized as one of the top-5 PT practices in our area. Needless to say, I've spent plenty of time working (doing) to grow our business and definitely fit the over-achiever archetype. Within in the past 3 months, I've cut out podcasts and all social media and discovered through the quiet that I'm not very good at living in the quiet. I've used the Monk Manual 90-Day planner for the last 3 years and through some recent reflection and some of the conversation in the Q&A last night, recognize I need to get a lot better at being. I'd deeply appreciate anyone's insights on how you make stillness, reflection, and being a part of your days beyond the reflection portion of the Monk Manual.

@Kathrin Sandall @Tim Cummings I have two phrases, I do not know where from. If you lapse, don't collapse. No blame, no shame.
