When teaching replaces personal practice
I reckon this is more of a reality than not. At some point, teaching can start to replace personal practice. Classes become your mat time and your own questions, struggles, and inquiry get postponed… indefinitely. Now hear me when I say that doesn’t automatically make you a bad teacher. Some of the most skilful, attentive teachers I know are in seasons where their personal practice looks nothing like it used to or barely exists at all. But what is worth considering is what happens when teaching becomes output without replenishment? So let’s talk not to judge, but to reflect: - What does personal practice look like in this season of your life? - Has it changed, simplified, disappeared, or matured?

Completely disappeared. I feel burnt out and like I’m just going through the motions. I try and give 100% to each class I teach but myself… bottom of the pile..and I feel it 😞

I actually took an hour out today to meet a friend for a cuppa and she did an Angel card reading for me - never done before but it was very interesting! I need to find some more of that white space in my diary Ann-See! 🙏
📌 A quick check-in and where things are now
I want to take a moment to check in with you. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been doing some necessary behind-the-scenes work. Rather than drip-feeding changes, I chose to pause, tidy, and bring things into alignment first. That work is now done. Here’s where the community stands: - What’s available in Open (Free) is now clear and intentionally spacious - ESSENTIALS now holds the off-the-mat, personal formation content (formerly Pocketful of Grace) - PRO is clearly focused on vocational formation for teachers - Some older content has been archived so the space feels calmer and easier to navigate - A small number of standalone courses remain available to purchase separately I want to be very clear about one thing:there is no pressure to upgrade, buy, or decide anything right now. I haven’t introduced pricing for the tiers yet because my priority has been clarity, not conversion. I want this community to feel settled, honest, and coherent before anything else. Over the coming days, I’ll gently share: - how the tiers will work going forward - how pricing will support the long-term sustainability of the Collective - and how any existing access is honoured For now, you’re invited to simply notice how the space feels, explore what’s available to you, and ask questions if anything is unclear. Thank you for your patience and for being part of this community as it finds its shape.

Thank you Ann-See 💜
📌 A small but important update
After much deliberation, The Yoga Teachers Club is becoming The Yoga Life Collective. Nothing is being taken away. Your access, content, and place here remain exactly the same. This change simply gives a clearer name to what has already been happening in this space, which is exploring yoga not just as something we teach or practise, but as a way of living, reflecting, and becoming. Over time, this community has naturally held: - space for multipassionate fitness professionals - upskill and support for MY KIND OF YOGA™ teachers - off-the-mat reflection - and a whole bunch of other stuff The new name allows all of that to sit together more honestly and with more room to grow. If you’ve been part of this community for a while, please know this: you are part of the founding collective. Your presence has shaped the tone, depth, and integrity of this space. There’s nothing you need to do. Take your time to look around. If you have questions, you’re very welcome to ask them here. More soon ... gently and in good time. Ann-See xo

The Sacred Ordinary
Dear Teacher, On this New Year's Day, a reminder that most of teaching is beautifully ordinary. Rolling out mats. Opening windows. Repeating cues we’ve said hundreds of times. Seeing familiar faces settle into familiar spots. And yet… Within the ordinary, the sacred hides. A student who finally notices their breath. Someone who arrives heavy and leaves lighter. The moment the room exhales together. The split-second where everything goes still. This month, honour the ordinary. It’s not “just another class.” It’s someone’s first step toward feeling whole again. Someone’s anchor in a chaotic week. Someone’s reminder that they’re not alone. You may never know the impact you make, but it’s there. Keep tending the ordinary. It’s where transformation grows. With appreciation, Ann-See

Your Presence Matters More Than Your Poses
Dear Teacher, There’s a quiet pressure in our industry to constantly refine: better cues, better playlists, better transitions. But here’s the truth I’ve learned through thousands of classes: Your presence will change a room long before your sequencing does. Students remember how you made them feel, not what shapes they created. They return because of your steadiness, not your symmetry. They trust you because your teaching feels lived, not memorised. This month, try softening your internal checklist. Teach from the inside out. Ask yourself before class: How do I want my students to feel at the end of this hour? Then let every cue, every breath count, every silence support that intention. You don’t need to be impressive; just present. Holding space with you, Ann-See xo
