Honouring the Practice in a Pick-and-Mix World
Dear Teacher, We live in a time where movement practices are often shaped by trends. Where classes are blended, rebranded, and adapted to fit what’s popular or marketable. Where it’s easy to pick what we like… and quietly leave the rest behind. And yet, whether you teach yoga, Pilates, BODYBALANCE, or any form of mindful movement, there is still something deeper that sits underneath it all. A thread, a responsibility, perhaps a practice. This isn’t about following one lineage or doing things the ā€œrightā€ way. But it is about remembering that what we teach carries influence. How we guide people into their bodies, how we speak about effort and rest, how we hold space for breath, awareness, and change all matter. So, this month, I invite you to pause and reflect not just on what you’re teaching, but on how you’re holding it. Are you teaching from habit… or from intention? From performance… or from presence? From pressure… or from understanding? In a world that often rushes to simplify and sell…your depth is what sets you apart. You don’t need to be louder, and you don’t need to do more. You just need to stay rooted in what you believe this work is truly about. That’s what people feel. That’s what they remember, and that’s what keeps this work meaningful for you and for them. With respect for the path you walk, Ann-See xo

Flow - April 2026
@Ann-See Yeoh Thank you for the lesson plans and recordings. This looks so lovely. The philosophy is very interesting. How and why did you select the poses the intention please - for example, Curtsy Lunge, Warrior 3 and Side Plank please?

@Claire Taylor Because they are challenging. When confronted with challenges on and off the mat, people can stop, give up or plough through with minimal care and awareness. Sthira sukham asanam ... can they flow with ease and grace?

@Claire Taylor Yes. To make any steps forwards, we need to loosen the hips/lower limbs.

@Ann-See Yeoh Centre in the sway - Pocketful of Grace. Another powerhouse of a month with being able to see ways in which scattered energy shows, spending energy wisely and the nervous system showing signs of burnout before the mind - thank you🌿
