Headphones for Mixing
I've recently upgraded to the Sennheiser HD 560S for mixing. I've also created a profile for it using the AutoEQ app to closely match the headphone's 'natural' frequency curve, then loaded it into SoundSource. I'm fairly pleased with the results, but was wondering if 1. anyone else uses this headphone for mixing 2. anyone here uses (or have used) the AutoEQ app to 'tune' your headphone 3. there is a benefit using a paid utility like Sonarworks SoundID over this method.

The best solution is a combination of things. You need to begin with a calibration profile for your specific headphone model, then apply psychoacoustic linearization on top of the headphone profile. It can get confusing, definitely, but I'm developing a software application that can address this and more in a consistent and accurate manner. Give me some time... I'll have a solution for everyone in the coming months.
Do you need a measurement microphone? - TAKEN
I have an extra Sonarworks measurement microphone. It is just sitting on a shelf staring at me, reminding me that I made a purchase mistake sometime in the past. If you need one, let me know and I will get it to you. Please only respond if you actually need a measurement mic. I live in the USA so I will ship it to you if you also live in the USA. Customs issues are just too much of a hassle outside the country. It is lightweight so I will pay the shipping costs. Let me know if you want it. I will send it to the first person that replies in the affirmative. Once I know who to send it to, we can talk about the shipping address in a private chat.

Sorry I missed this earlier. I was at work. What was your mistake? It never hurts to have an extra measurement microphone available to you, and the Sonarworks mic is actually a decent one.
Dithering
Hey everyone, I went through past threads regarding dithering and it's a divided topic, it was interesting to gather different perspectives but I didn't really find a direct answer for what I've been wondering - I also wasn't sure how old the threads were. With streaming accepting 24/48k and CD's becoming obsolete, is dithering still necessary at the mastering stage?

Any time you are changing a sample rate from a higher value to a lower value, yes.

@Neeta Dash yes it is dependent on the requirements of the client. But why not give the client both formats? There’s no rule that says you can only deliver one format.
Clippers
what clipper do you all recommend? I been searching but cant really decide

I will recommend K-Clip3 and Gold Clip. Those are the two I use all the time. Well, technically the FG-X counts as a clipper too, and I use that.
Foundation VU meter
Hi everyone.I am trying to set the kick, snare and bass foundation to a mix. I started with a kick and i want to ask if i need to use some specific settings for my VU meter.

VU Standard. Everything else looks fine. VU meters are calibrated to -18dBFS, so 0VU = -18dBFS. Anything other than that is an adjustment based on personal preference. You could also use RMS meters to tell you the same information.
