Product vs. Add-On
Back with another question for the pricing experts! Chatting with a pricing leader who's looking to create a clear framework for when something should be a standalone product vs. an Add-On for an existing product. Curious how others have thought about this? Would love to see any frameworks or hear any anecdotes from past experiences.

I like @Luc van der Tuin points on interdependencies. I also apply a mix of other criteria: 1) Goals - Is the business trying to create a new revenue stream? Enter a new market / market category? 2) Is it a different buyer? (Hubspot CRM = CRO; HubSpot Marketing Automation = CMO) 3) Is it a different user? Buyer - Director of IT; User 1: Server Team; User 2: Storage Team 4) Disconnected value paths? - Can be either because the JTBD is completely disconnected in FUNCITON or in TIME. (e.g., financial products from banks - credit cards, home loans, checking account, wealth mgmt - all same buyer/user) 5) Does the capability have such a strong ROI/value that justifies a "product-sized price) (e.g., would be equal or greater in price than the other products) 6) Could a buyer go to a separate vendor to buy this functionality? (somewhat related to #1)
DaaS vs SaaS pricing approach
Off late there are many companies that position themselves as DaaS (Data as a service). Would the approach to pricing strategy be any different when compared to SaaS?
