Current 20 mile Bomb šŸ’£šŸ’„ Streak is at ZERO. We will see if "Alexa can get us going again" IYKYK However for real here are my thoughts for you all... EAT CAKE RUN CLUB BIG RUN WEEKEND EP: 25 is a reminder that consistency isn’t loud—it’s stubborn. BIG RUN WEEKEND, isn’t about chasing numbers, perfect conditions, or some magical burst of motivation. Big Run Weekend exists for the days when you’d rather not, when the schedule is tight, the weather’s off, or your energy just isn’t there. This is where Eat Cake Run Club leans in. Where we choose effort over excuses and prove—again—that showing up imperfectly is still showing up strong. By now, the New Year glow has long faded. Resolutions have been tested by real life, and progress may not look the way we imagined back in January. But here’s the truth: this is the part that actually counts. Week 25 is about building grit, not hype. It’s about doing hard things even when no one’s watching and there’s no finish-line celebration waiting. Big Run Weekend is the spark that carries us through the year—not because it’s easy, but because it teaches us who we are when it’s not. If you need a reset, a reminder, or a reason to keep going—this weekend is it. Show up. Do something hard. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I'm beyond excited here, cause I'm FINALLY feeling back to par, and, all my busyness seems to have chilled out. Plus we have some very "deplorable conditions" predicted for Saturday so..... I've got plans, long overdue plansšŸ¤ŖšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Eat Cake Run Club—23 BIG RUN WEEKENDS That’s not by "chance" , that’s You all! AS you know Big Run Weekend has never been about flexing huge mileage or chasing a perfect pace . It’s about throwing down in whatever way hard shows up that weekend. ... And I’ll be real with you: last weekend, my hard wasn’t a massive long run. Normally I can crank those out without much drama, at least one day. But this time? The hard was simply getting in some miles at all. The same place a lot of us find ourselves—tired, busy, unmotivated, questioning if it even counts. It does. Showing up when it feels heavy counts more than anything. ...And here’s the thing—this weekend is special. There’s a little surprise coming your way… maybe a guest runner ? , maybe something that shakes things up just enough to remind us why we do this together. "what could it be ?" So whatever your hard is this weekend—slow miles, short miles, ugly miles, or just getting out the door—GO DO IT. Big Run Weekend isn’t about proving how strong you are when it’s easy. It’s about choosing to do the hard thing anyway. We’ve done it 22 times already. Let’s make it 23.

20/5/100..... The 2026 Jumpstart Challenge.
OK Ok OK.... The "holidaze" is officially over so we call can get back to it..... "OFFICIALLY" SO, Starting January 11th, 2026, we’re kicking off a brand-new challenge at Eat Cake Run Club—and it’s not here to be comfortable. (Read that again) :) It’s called 20/5/100 and it’s designed to test your consistency, your grit, and your mindset. Here’s the deal: for 20 straight days, we will run five miles every single day and complete 100 burpees daily. YES you read that right, and YES ABSOLUTELY you can do this... No NEGATIVE NELLYS HERE ! The miles will challenge your legs a bit , but let’s be honest—the real work is going to happen when you drop to the ground for the amazing and wonderful movement call burpees! This challenge is about showing up tired, sore, unmotivated, and still choosing to finish. The burpees are the mental barrier, and breaking through them is the point. (again read that again) That said, this challenge is about growth, not injury. If you’re not physically ready to complete all 100 burpees, do as many as you can with good form, then finish the remaining reps with strict, well-controlled push-ups. No shortcuts. No sloppy reps. Quality always wins. Here is the deal, Plyometrics are one of the most underrated secret weapons for runners—building power, resilience, and efficiency—and that’s exactly why burpees are part of this challenge. Strong runners aren’t just built by miles alone. And as a bonus? If you start getting after your burpees now, your summer beach wear is going to thank you later. This is a commitment challenge. A mindset challenge. A ā€œwho are you when it gets hardā€ challenge. I am in. Are you? V

EP: 21 BIG RUN WEEKEND... What are your 2026 Goals ?
New Year YES , Same ole Crushing the BIG RUN WEEKENDS.... YES!!! Welcome to 2026 and Episode: 21 of Eat Cake Run Clubs BIG RUN WEEKEND. We are proud to say the we have the 20 mile bomb šŸ’£šŸ’„ Run Streak up to 10 weeks which is an Eat Cake Run club record! Well it make it to 11? " WE SHALL SEE" Remember that BIG RUN WEEKEND is not about a certain distance or certain pace, it is about getting out there and doing the hard things. Sometimes it is a massive long run, or a blazing fast pace, sometimes it is just getting out the door for a mile. ALL OF THEM COUNT! *Read that last part again* So as we look at the NEW START to the year, this is a GREAT TIME to build the foundation of what this year could be. We have 52 BIG RUN WEEKENDS this year and this is the first. What we do this weekend will be a major part of the tone we have for the other 51 BRW's. Find a way to GO BIG. THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR IT! LETS GOOOOOOO! V
