THE FIRST SPRAY- BDK SILVER CEREMONY
Well my brothers, it’s time to start off this review series. And to open it up, we’ll be starting with their blue bottled beast, Silver Ceremony As we went over before, I’ll be doing brutally honest reviews on three new releases from the house of BDK Parfums, which were developed as special edition extracts to commemorate their 10th anniversary. First spray of this scent catches you completely off guard. It’s icy. Cold. Metallic. Punchy. A bomb of italian lemon, bergamot, and mandarin orange, which I believe to be blended with a touch of aldehydes to give it that truly icy feeling to it. A bit synthetic for my taste, but not bad by any means. It’s unforgiving and unapologetic, and right off the bat, you can see right through the transparent citruses, and get touches of a large and dominant blend of ginger and pink pepper, which give it sparkle and lift, and just a touch of the leathery base. It’s like a movie trailer, it gives you samples of what you’ll see if you stay throughout, but you won’t experience it fully until you let it sit. This is a prime example of the DNA from Jordi Fernandez, punchy, unforgettable, intense fragrances. As the scent continues on, you get that heart of ginger and pink pepper. It gives the sparkling, almost fizzy lift to the opening, and provides the bridge to the base. It acts as a slightly warmer element to the icy, cold opening, and gives it almost a citrus, tonic like vibe with some slight fizz. As the scent continues on, it finally dries down to a base of a leathery oud, sharpened with cypriol, cedarwood, and an accent of citrus. It remains bright and citrusy throughout, although the sharpness tones down slightly when it dries down. Performance, exceptional, and to me, lived up to the extrait label. Projection is very strong within the first few hours, and as it dries down, still remains noticeable. Longevity is incredible. I get around 9 hours before it fades to a leathery, slight skin scent, and even the to next day, that oud still remains.

First Day Back with the collection
I was away with the family and took some wonderful scents with me. (more on those later) Now that I am home, I wanted to reach for something new that I have not had much experience with so far. MFK - L'Homme A La Rose This is a nice soft woody floral. Not a lot of projection, sits nicely on the skin, but it is a "for Me" scent as the scent trail will require others to be fairly close and in your personal space in order to get their nose on it. It's been on for a few hours and it is already starting to fade, so I think I'll need a respray.
