The Hawas rat race is getting insane..
I’ve been a big fan of this line from the beginning and currently have 7 flankers including the OG on my shelf as it is, but lately Rasasi has been releasing flankers three and four at a time it seems making it pretty dumb trying to keep up now. My eye however has been on the Exotic and Thunder flankers as of late but still can’t find them anywhere online at the normal Hawas price range and/or widely rolled out yet. So as I’m going through my daily Jomashop scrolling at home today I see these final two additions that I had no idea even existed and haven’t seen any info regarding these online whatsoever. I impulse bought the Overdose. They both say limited quantity and are around the normal price range for these bottles (sub$50). Neither is registered on Fragrantica either. Did I just strike gold with this mystery release. Stay tuned for first wears when it comes in. Smell great brothers.

SOTD: Chanel Platinum Égoïste
With summer officially underway and a big day ahead as the BookTube Prize moves into the semifinals, I decided to reach for a classic: Chanel Platinum Égoïste. Released in 1993 and created by Jacques Polge, Platinum Égoïste opens with rosemary, lavender, neroli, and petitgrain before moving into a heart of geranium, clary sage, and jasmine. The base is a refined blend of oakmoss, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, and amber. Wearing it today, I'm reminded why this fragrance has endured for more than three decades. It manages to feel crisp, clean, and professional without ever becoming boring. The lavender and rosemary give it a bright aromatic freshness, while the geranium adds that distinctive metallic edge that makes Platinum Égoïste instantly recognizable. To my nose, this is one of the best examples of a fragrance that smells confident rather than flashy. It's polished, mature, and effortlessly put together. Perfect for the office, business meetings, lunch dates, or any occasion where you want to smell sharp without drawing attention to yourself. A classic for a reason.

Next on my wanted list from Chanel
SOTD: Terre d’Hermès EDT
Went with a classic today. One of the first colognes I ever purchased a full bottle of and still one of my favorites. I have several from the line and love all the ones that I own.

@Jon Jacobs my first, although I'm considering the original top. Bleu opens up fresh with a lovely Yuzu note, dries down into an Ambroxan base, it's real nice

SOTD: Majd Al Sultan by Asdaaf 01/06/2026
I recently picked up Majd Al Sultan by Asdaaf, and my first impression was an immediate sense of deja vu. It smells remarkably similar to the elusive Dolce & Gabbana The One Luminous Night—which is a huge win considering how difficult and expensive that Middle Eastern exclusive is to find nowadays. Released under Lattafa’s sub-brand, Asdaaf, this fragrance captures that same exotic, sophisticated DNA but with a slightly more wearable approach, as the heavy incense found in the D&G version is dialed back here. When I first unboxed it, I was impressed by the presentation; the bottle has a unique velvet wrap that feels far more premium than the price tag suggests. When I first sprayed my bottle, the opening hit me with a sharp, spicy kick of cardamom blended with a touch of bergamot. I’ll be honest—fresh out of the box, it felt a little raw, but as it settled into the mid-notes, the sweetness of the dates and the aromatic lavender started to smooth everything out. This is where the magic happens; the "sticky" sweetness of the dates gives it that signature Middle Eastern gourmand feel. As it reaches the dry down, the base of vanilla, amber, and patchouli creates a warm, resinous finish that lingers comfortably on the skin. I’ve found that letting the bottle sit for a few weeks after the first few sprays—a process often called maceration—really helps these notes harmonize and lose that initial alcoholic edge. In terms of performance, this isn't a "room-filler," but it provides a solid personal scent bubble. On my skin, the projection is moderate for the first couple of hours before it settles into a more intimate sillage. It’s the kind of scent that lasts about 6 to 7 hours, making it an ideal choice for date nights or evening events where you want to smell inviting rather than overpowering. Given its warm, sweet profile, I find it best suited for the cooler months of autumn and winter, or a breezy spring evening. It’s a fantastic, budget-friendly alternative for anyone who loves that Luminous Night vibe but wants something they can spray liberally without breaking the bank.
