OOTD 2026-03-20: A Concert - Favorite Band, Favorite Venue...
I'm out of town, by myself, for the weekend for an appointment tomorrow. As luck would have it - or perhaps as I planned it - my favorite band is playing at my favorite venue this evening, and I happen to have a ticket! 😁 My favorite band is Sister Hazel; they've been my favorite band since high school - mostly, admittedly, for nostalgic reasons. However, a lot of their songs really spoke to me - most of which were never played on the radio. I didn't understand why until years later, but it's suffice to say that the lead singer and I have a surprising amount of things in common, from a particular perspective. They're playing at Avondale Brewing Company, which is my favorite concert venue. You'll understand why when I post pictures from the concert later. I brought five outfits for this trip, including my traveling outfit - all of which feature Criquet polo shirts. Incidentally, they will all feature Erebus watches, but that's a coincidence - I started with the Criquet polos... Outfit rundown: - Black, wool felt, "La Famiglia" Trilby by Scala from The Mob Museum, Las Vegas - Black, Top Shelf Range Polo shirt by Criquet - Black jeans by Madewell - Black, leather suspenders by JJ Suspenders - Black, nubuck leather, Derby boots by Carets - Purple, Super 130's wool sportscoat by Cremieux - Black and silver paisley, silk pocket square by Ron Cornell - Gunmetal, Star Wars Millennium Falcon lapel pin - Sterling Silver, Star Wars X-Wing necklace by Rocklove - Dark gray, Star Wars Millennium Falcon, silicone wedding ring by Enso - Silver, 1945 Walking Liberty half-dollar, coin ring SOTD: Angelic Aged Whiskey of Mind Control by Dua Fragrances WOTD: Ascent Aventurine 41mm GADA Automatic by Erebus

Excellent look. I like the pop of colour over the black base.

I use Mitchum Unscented Anti-Perspirant Deodorant. Keeps me cool and fresh without interfering with any fragrance choices I make.
New Shoes!
I have a funeral looming, and want to look my best. So I bought some new shoes. Samuel Windsor Cheltenham Brogue (Oxblood). My first brogues. My first oxbloods. My first Goodyear welts. My first Samuel Windsor. They are a nice fit, and they look great. Very happy.

@Brian McGuire Of course. I guess they might fall to pieces, but they are touted as a decent "beginner" option for the form and function, that perform above their price point (with some compromises, naturally). The presentation they arrived in definitely felt somewhat elevated, when considering the price. The whole "neeed" for GYW on shoes of this price is a little moot, as why spend £100 on a decent resoling when a new pair costs less than that? I've never owned a pair of brogues, and I might just downright hate them, so I didn't fancy dropping a wad on something that weren't a good choice for me.

@Brian McGuire I'm doing a LOT of "firsts" at the moment. This time 6 months ago, I was a great deal heavier and lot less stylish. It was jeans, oversized patterened tshirts, trainers, and that's it. Since losing weight and working to level up my style game, I've tried my first polos, my first dress shirts, my first chinos, my first real suit, my first jumpers, my first blazers, my first topcoats... and my first Chelsea boots and brogues. I'm still shrinking, so I'm being cautious on my clothing purchases, and budget is very much a consideration. It's all new (and fun!) to me, and I'll likely make a few mistakes on the way. But I'm open to the process, and will report on the bad and the good. And the shoes look and feel great, so there's that. 😄
Shoe Trees
Hello! So, I'm upping my shoe game, and I've purchased a couple of pairs that I consider to be good quality (albeit a beginner good quality). Conventional wisdom suggests shoe trees, but I've never owned anything like that and am unsure of the quality / need / admin surrounding them. A quick poll... Do you own any shoe trees? (EDIT: I originally called the trees "shoe lasts", until I was put straight by @Dr. Jason Cole. Edited what I could. Thank you sir! 🙂)

@Dr. Jason Cole Wonderful information, thank you! 🙂 I'll go edit the post and poll to reflect the correct nomenclature. Clarity matters. 👍

CW = Critiques Welcome! Fun week with nearly all of the goals done. Quiet office today, however, as I am the only in it. Outfit • Shirt — DS‑011 (Paul Fredrick): A cobalt blue double pencil‑stripe stretch dress shirt in cotton‑spandex, finished in a smooth non‑iron weave. The crisp vertical striping provides structure and visual lift under a navy jacket while remaining comfortable for a full leadership workday. • Undershirt — US‑003 (Pro Club): A heavyweight white cotton crew‑neck undershirt that offers excellent opacity control under the striped dress shirt. Durable and dependable, it keeps the shirt cleanly presented throughout the day. • Slacks — SL‑009 (Santorelli): Tan wool slacks with a faint medium‑brown check, tailored for clean drape and natural movement. The warm neutral base balances the cooler blues above, grounding the outfit in business‑appropriate contrast. • Odd Jacket — DOJ‑007 (Ralph Lauren): A navy wool blazer with a slight sheen and classic brass buttons, cut in a structured silhouette. This jacket delivers executive authority while remaining versatile enough for internal leadership and client‑adjacent settings. • Tie — NT‑030 (Kirby Allison): A silk tie in rust and navy with medium‑scale paisley‑inspired motifs. The warm rust tones echo the slacks and belt, while the navy anchors the tie to the jacket for cohesive color storytelling. • Belt — B‑010 (Magnanni): Caramel‑brown leather belt with subtle tonal variation and a silver buckle. Its warmth aligns perfectly with the slacks and shoes, maintaining leather harmony across the outfit. • Footwear — DSh‑007 (Allen Edmonds): Chocolate‑brown cap‑toe Oxfords in Goodyear‑welted leather. A classic executive shoe choice—serious, refined, and perfectly suited to business‑formal or high‑polish business‑classic environments. • Socks — DSo‑063 (Fort Belvedere): Over‑the‑calf cotton socks in mid‑brown with a blue shadow stripe. The stripe subtly ties back to the shirt and jacket while remaining discreet and professional.

Looking great as per usual. The jacket sleeves look a little short in this picture, but I'm sure that's only the photo and not the reality.

@Dr. Jason Cole I always offer (and ask for) honesty, I find it's generally appreciated. And I generally have the exact opposite issue with my jackets and shirts. My arms are so short, I swear I'm part T-Rex.
