Is Salesforce using seats as a hedge for low product trust with Agentforce?
I read this about SF moving agents back to seat-based licensing https://www.theregister.com/2025/12/05/salesforce_ai_pricing/ To me, this signals a gap in the value perception and it feels like they are admitting the customer doesn't know what the agent does and won't risk the variable bills. My assumption is that the flat-fee seats are a de-risking of the purchase for the buyer. Am I wrong? Would love to hear other takes on this ;)

Big question - was it customer driven or salesforce driven. Customers want predictability, or salesforce wants more profit?

Selling $50M at MuleSoft CFOs also want predictable pricing…it could be $100k or $300k = hard to budget for with clients and tricky as a sales rep vs its $200k and you have certainty for buyers and sellers. Service based professional services businesses also struggle there with scopes of work that may or may not get filled without predictable revenue which impacts everything across the org for headcount and planning….
