Month Of May Energy
May’s energy carries the feeling of transition, revelation, and emotional awakening across the world. The universal weather energy reflects instability turning into renewal — storms, flooding, heat waves, strong winds, and unusual climate shifts mirror the emotional atmosphere many people are experiencing internally. Spiritually, this weather symbolizes cleansing, emotional release, and the breaking apart of old stagnant energy so new cycles can begin. In love, May brings karmic lessons and emotional truth to the surface, causing many people to reevaluate relationships, loyalty, communication, and emotional security. Some connections may heal through honesty, while others may end if they are built on confusion or imbalance. Health-wise, the month emphasizes stress, inflammation, nervous system exhaustion, digestion, mucus buildup, and emotional fatigue, making rest, hydration, movement, and emotional balance especially important. Politically, the energy feels tense and highly charged worldwide, with growing frustration over economic pressure, leadership struggles, conflict between nations, and public demands for accountability and stability. Overall, May is not a quiet month — it is a month of exposure, transformation, emotional clarity, and preparing for a new direction collectively and personally.

Yes, I feel the emotional clarity! There is certainly a shift that feels like blockages, unnecessary and negative connections have fallen away.
Spiritual Exercise
Speaking With the Ancestors Through the Elements Class, today we will practice a simple African spiritual exercise to strengthen our connection with the ancestors and the natural forces that guide us. In African traditions, wisdom comes through nature, silence, and ancestral presence. This practice will help you learn to listen. Materials Needed • A bowl of water • A small stone • A leaf or herb • A white cloth or piece of paper • A quiet space Each item represents a sacred force: Water – Spirit and the ancestors Stone – Earth and stability Leaf – Life and healing White cloth/paper – Purity and messages Step 1 – Opening the Space Sit quietly and place the items in front of you. Say this invocation slowly: Ancestors who walked before me, Those whose names are known and unknown, Come sit with me in wisdom. Let the earth speak. Let the water remember. Let the wind carry truth. I open my spirit to learning. Step 2 – The Stone Question Hold the stone in your hand and ask: “What lesson do I need to understand this week?” Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Step 3 – Water Reflection Place the stone into the bowl of water and watch the ripples. Observe what happens. Strong ripples may mean change is moving around you. Water that settles quickly can mean peace or patience. If emotion rises in you, it may be healing taking place. Just observe without forcing meaning. Step 4 – The Leaf Message Hold the leaf or herb and ask: “What must I grow or heal in my life right now?” Write the first thought that comes to you on the white paper. In many African traditions, the first thought is the whisper of the ancestors. Step 5 – Closing Gratitude End by saying: Ancestors, I thank you. Walk with me in wisdom. May my steps honor those who came before me. Reflection Questions Please share your experience with the class: 1. What message did you feel or receive? 2. What emotion came up during the exercise? 3. What action will you take this week based on what you learned?

When I dropped the stone in the water it went to the bottom with little ripples. Bubbles floated to the top. The last bubble sat on the surface for a second and then popped. I thought of air and breathing. This made me feel a need for calm, stillness and a peaceful state. The first thought I got from the leaf was self and heart. I need to heal my heart so that I can do better for myself. I will be getting back to meditation on a more regular basis and listening to more soothing music. This is when I seem to focus more on my breathing. I feel like this is where I can generate some needed peaceful energy. 💚
Return To Sender Ritual
Items needed: cola nut, red earth, bowl, palm oil, sea salt. Hold the cola nut in your left hand and pray over it to return all rituals, spells, or witchcraft back to sender, to enemies known and unknown. Place red earth in a bowl. Dig into the center of the red earth. Place the cola nut in the middle of the earth. Pour palm oil over it. Pour sea salt over it. Pray again. Leave in the sun for three days. After three days, take it and dump it at the base of a tree. Your enemies will be exposed “ Ancestors who walk with me, Witness this work. I call for balance, not harm. What is not mine, I return to its rightful place.”

Can we use the small cola nut or must it be the large one?
