Kids with ADHD
I suspect my daughter has inactive Adhd and I want to get her diagnosed however both my husband and mother in law opposes to it because my husband's younger brother was diagnosed and put on medications when he was younger and it made him in a zombie-like state. This was also years and years ago but I'm putting my foot down to get her checked out. Medication or not, I want to learn how to help ease her adhd problems. Just for context, I also discovered I have adhd when learning about it for my daughter, although undiagnosed at this point but it helps that I mirrored her problems and therefore I am able to understand her better. What are your opinions about my situation and getting my daughter who is almost 10 years old diagnosed and perhaps medicated?

@Cathy A Castagna I did. When my husband voiced that out, I told him that I want to help our daughter however I can because the constant yelling and disappointment isn't helping the situation. It's only going to give her more mental health problems down the line. I've already implemented what I've learn to help her like making a list of what to do when she gets up for school and i set alarm reminders of what she has to do before bed. Those have actually work... so much so I didn't have to keep telling her to do stuff. Which is amazing. I also do sit with her and communicate her problems out with me and sometimes discuss with her how I could help her better at things she's having a hard time with. So far it has truly helped. However both my mother in law and my husband doesnt ever see eye to eye with me. Whenever I try to explain things to them, that her difficulties are because of her adhd, they always shot me down and say she's just being a bad girl etc or claim that I am pampering her and not parenting her right. It's frustrating with these toxic people but I try my best to communicate with my daughter in private so she could speak her mind to me and I could explain things to her if she needed help understanding anything at all. And as well reassuring her that some things aren't her fault, no matter what her grandma or dad or anyone else say.
Looking for 10 beta test users new AI
What's up, ADHD Harmony fam! I'm looking for 10 beta testers to try our brand new free AI-powered onboarding experience. We've built a powerful new assessments that will become the starting point for everyone doing the 5-Day Challenge going forward. What you'll be testing: 1. Your ADHD Snapshot (~25 min) 9 deep questions across three dimensions: Your ADHD Story, The Hidden Cost, and Why You're Here Now. At the end, our AI generates a personalized portrait of your ADHD experience. 2. The ADHD Awakening Assessment (~45 min) 15 questions that go even deeper across five dimensions: The Truth About Your Brain, Your Invisible Identity Cage, Rewriting Your Internal Code, The Harmony Reset, and Your Path Forward. This one maps out where you actually are right now: your patterns, your strengths, your limiting beliefs, and what your ideal life actually looks like. You'll get a full AI-generated psychological portrait that connects all the dots. This is the same assessment as the previous 5-Day Challenge, but potentially even richer since it uses the new ADHD snapshot assessment as extra context. You'll be doing this on the new Harmony AI platform, the same environment our paid program members use. You'll have access to the two worksheets only, not the other features. Who I'm looking for: - 5 people who have already done the 5-Day Challenge but want to experience the new assessment flow on the new platform - 5 people who are already in this community but haven't done the challenge yet (or missed it and have been wanting to jump in) How to apply: Drop "REDO" (if you already did the challenge) or "NEW "(if you are new and want to give this a try) in the comments below and I'll pick 10 people at random from the list. πŸ’› Jim
