Full Moon Thoughts & Prompts to assist with deeper clarity, connection and clearing
Hi ladies, hope you all had a wonderful first full moon of the year. I just read some thoughts on it in a newsletter (by Julie Vonn) and wanted to share. Especially appreciate the journal prompts at the end. "In classical Chinese medicine, the Full Moon corresponds with a peak in Yang and an upward movement of Qi, Blood, and body fluids toward the surface—often showing up as lighter sleep, stronger emotions, more visible symptoms, and shifts in hormonal activity (PMS flares, breast tenderness, headaches, changes in bleed timing). When we write or speak during this phase, we’re not just “venting”; we’re giving form to experiences that are already activated in the nervous system, organ networks, and endocrine rhythms, which can help the body re-pattern stress responses and interrupt inherited survival strategies. In Western astrology, the Moon is at home in Cancer, the sign of memory, lineage, and emotional body—so those with strong Cancer or Moon placements often feel these lunar peaks more intensely. Where does the Moon live in your chart, and how does your body respond when it’s full? This makes the Full Moon an especially powerful time for narrative medicine—for telling the truth on paper about what your body has been holding. When you write, even a few lines, you’re not just dumping thoughts; you’re giving shape to experiences your nervous system is already carrying. Once a pattern has shape, it can be seen. Once it’s seen, it can be changed. Journal prompts to work with: •What am I still carrying that doesn’t belong to my future—or my children’s? •What ends with me? •What becomes altar, not inheritance? •What might my symptom or cycle be trying to midwife me into? Let your words be simple and direct. One line is enough: “What ends with me is…” You don’t have to know how yet... Naming it is the first medicine." I'm working on these prompts today.
