I’ve been working with my first-ever client for about six months now. They pay around $600/month for 8 short-form videos and 1 long-form video (overdelivering like crazy) and out of all my clients, this one definitely takes up the most time. Recently, they’ve kind of unofficially put me in a “head of marketing” role, which adds small tasks here and there, like making posters, shooting quick extra stuff, etc. They also asked me to create content for their supplement brand, but they have no budget for it since their just starting out, so I've done very little with that. Even though I’m clearly overdelivering, they’ve told me they don’t really see the value in paying more, and it’s tough to prove ROI for them, because their succes metric is ocial media growth — and while we’ve gotten pretty solid results on YouTube (especially given the size of the channel), Instagram is harder to grow, especially with the current budget. And even if results improved, I’m not sure it would translate into them actually valuing the work enough to pay what its actually worth. So would love to get some thoughts on that, should I drop this client and get a bunch of hours back to focus on higher-paying ones? Or hold onto them until I land a few more solid clients?
