You are more than just a "camera person"...
I wish someone had said this to me and instilled this in me sooner. Because even now, after 5+ years in the industry, it's been only a few months since I've overcome this process and mindset. We've all been there or experienced this. The classic "hey camera guy" or "take a photo" etc etc. And at first it's cool. You feel important. Seen. But over time, it gets tiring. Because this phrasing and how people refer to you and me carries this weight. Weight of perfection. Weight of identity. Weight of needing to prove yourself and your value at all times. And until a few months ago, it took forever to break the cycle and the limiting thoughts in my head of: "This is who I am and what I have to be..." And shift it into: "Who am I yet to become?" So all that is to say... You're more than a photographer, videographer, editor, graphic designer, etc. You're a human just like everyone else in this world. Create whatever the f*ck you want to create. Do what the f*ck you want to do. And be who the f*ck you want to be. And don't EVER let anyone set the limit of who you are destined to be. Your identity and worth are not rooted in a label, followers, camera brands, views, likes, money, etc. Because behind the camera/screen is where the real value lies...
