Pre-auction post. Is it wild to try to lead with identity here?
@Travis Sago this is our pre-auction post for the guys that get lots of leads with just one piece of content and ads. We looked at their current offer page - I'll DM it to you- and figured that the auction can't just be a faster version of what they're already selling. They've already got "Content built in 24 hours, ads launched, calls within 48 hours" on their website. So we went a different direction. Instead of leading with the mechanism or the leads, we're pulling on identity and reputation. The idea is "disappear from social media and still have clients banging down your door." Become the person in your industry nobody can figure out. Quietly booked solid while everyone else is grinding out content. Are we on the right track making it feel like a completely different thing from their current offer? Or are we overthinking it and should the auction just try to sexy up their already sexy thing they sell? Here's the post: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L5rBitPqUlSJgI2WKFowER9lnyHw4zBNSw4xhTv7QwY/edit?usp=sharing

@Marcus Karl I like leading with identity. Ronin is a good example. Serve No Master Are the 3 words that do most of the heavy lifting. I’m just saying We are RARE. And most people desire fame in 2026. We want to CALL out the peeps who just want to be “rich” and be left alone.

@Marcus Karl the thin slice is the coin flip. Come up heads and win $1000 or come up tails and win $1. Flip. The. Coin.
Can I remove course permissions?
If I give someone access to putting my course in their skool group can I remove their access of I need to? I'm talking with someone about doing that now and definitely want to retain control only my IP

I don’t think you can after you share the key. One way to get around this is to let the Skool course link to something you DO control. For example: I can share a G Doc where they get access…it can be to sign up in Kajabi for example… That way I can shutdown the G Doc to kill access to new peeps and I could even revoke access in Kajabi for peeps that are already in. This still gives me the ease of copying the course key for my partner, but I still maintain “flow control.”

@Ben Newcomb look in the Ronin classroom. Look at what unlocks after day 8 for example. Control flow.
OI: When to know if their starting price is too high to negotiate
Got a handful of conversations going with Skool owners today (6 so far) about purchasing. Of the ones that have a price, one said $75k and the other said $50k. These are not massive communities. A few thousand people. I know "how long is a piece of string" but is this just a case of needing to go through BDTS a few times and get a feel for it? The super high starting numbers seem ridiculous to me for what the owners actually have.

Gonna talk about this tomorrow @Nick Bandy:-)

@Nick Bandy it’s not time to administer the 2nd dose. Timing is everything.
Is this a good idea? (Newsletter Acquisition or Sponsorship Deal)
Had a great kickoff call with @Travis Sago today on how to leverage my skills the Ronin way. And a little after the call, I remembered a job post from Steven Alexander Young (Daniel Throssell's mentor, I believe?) Anyway, it was for a newsletter writer for his 'Ad Catalyst' Substack newsletter. Hopped onto their trial, and it's a newsletter that puts a spotlight on ads that they like and think "work", why and short commentary on how the audience could emulate the formula, all in about 100–200 words. But the thing is...he's looking to sell. I'll add a copy of the job doc (with the most important bits highlighted), but here's the rundown: 1. It has 12,000+ subscribers 2. It would be the perfect list for an agency looking to sell their services 3. Prime real estate for sponsorship deals + good database for companies that sponsored newsletters in the past (with 10,000 leads with names + contact info) 4. He's looking to get it off his hands as quickly as he can I, personally, don't want to buy it (and couldn't right now anyway). BUT I was wondering if I should reach out and offer my services as a liaison of sorts (?) to get him buyer leads (and get a cut if he actually does sell it). Since I'm still a little new here (and haven't really done much research on the lead yet)... Does this sound like a good idea so far? Is too advanced for a beginner? Would anyone be interested in buying/paying for a sponsorship/know someone who would be interested? Wanna hear your thoughts before I make the next step (reach out).

@Charles Young , it was fun getting to know you. This fella would probably be open to sponsorships… A simple… “Do you accept ads or sponsorships?” Would likely get the convo opened… The challenge is will he be able to deliver enough exposure for the sponsor? On first glance… He’s only getting 2 or 3 likes on his posts. Nothing wrong with that… But it doesn’t get me excited to place ads with him. You are in a great position in the travel space as we discussed. I’d focus there. There is massive traffic and influencers in the travel niche desperate for new sponsors… And you’re in a very unique and advantageous place to deliver and get 20% to 30% of the deals.
Hidden Asset in CDOD
Have you already gone through Coffee Dates on Demand? If you're weird like me, you've probably watched every video twice 😅 Even so... There's a hidden asset in the training. It requires a little digging. But it might be more valuable than the dozens of positive replies... And handfuls of coffee dates Ronin are getting from tiny lists of 100 prospects. I was sharing this with Ronin smart-guy and good dude @Marcus Karl the other day. I started with the Giving FUN-nel from CDOD... And went out to people in the music niche. I built a great list. Wrote some lovely (I thought) copy. Hit send. Then kicked my feet on my desk as I awaited glorious and automated positive replies. But what I got back... "Not interested" "Your copy looks like it came from TikTok" "You need to change if you want to work with serious businesses." Welp. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. But useful data nonetheless. I went back and tweaked my IBTs (intent-based targeting) Changed my copy. And most importantly... Thought of conversations I had already had with people in my niche. It turns out... I had some data from past conversations with business owners about what they might really really really want. And THAT is what needed to go in my Giving FUN-nel copy. I popped that into smartlead... And off it went. Feet kicked back up... more hesitantly this time awaiting positive replies. Totally different story: "Auction? Sounds interesting." "You're getting committed students? Tell me more." I already HAD the data I needed to dial in my funnel... I just didn't use it because I forgot. Now I OWN a FUN-nel that is dialed in for this niche. Which is an amazing asset to have. But the real HIDDEN asset of CDOD... Is that I now have the knowledge to troubleshoot this process... And create a winning campaign in ANY niche that I want. The process will always be the same... Put out our best guess to get hands raised. Have some conversations.
