Welcome to the Low & Slow BBQ and Smoking Community!
Hey everyone, I’m Brian, your host and fellow pitmaster enthusiast. This is a free space for all levels—from backyard beginners to seasoned smokers—to share tips, recipes, techniques, and stories about perfecting that tender brisket, ribs, or pulled pork. What’s inside: • Beginner guides and advanced hacks. • Free recipe shares and equipment reviews. • Eventually we will have weekly live Q&As and challenges (Once the member count raises). • Eventually we will have premium recipes in the classroom. Start by introducing yourself: What’s your go-to smoker? Favorite meat to smoke? Drop a comment below! Feel free to drop a selfie or pic of your bbq/smoking setup. Smoke on, and let’s make this the best BBQ crew around! 🔥🍖 I have setup a few categories... See below: • Beginner Basics: For newbies—intro guides, simple setups, common mistakes, and first-time smokes. • Recipes & Rubs: Share and discuss recipes, spice mixes, marinades, and side dishes. • Equipment Reviews: Gear talk—smokers, thermometers, tools, fuels, MODS and recommendations. • Advanced Techniques: Pro tips on wrapping, resting, wood selection, temperature control, and troubleshooting. • Q&A Help Desk: Ask questions, get advice from the community on specific issues. • Show & Tell: Post your smokes, before/after pics, success stories, or fails to learn from. The First Classroom is now LIVE but still a work in progress. Feel free to start the first classroom module and check back often for updates. https://www.skool.com/low-slow-bbqsmoking-group-8793/classroom/e6874de7?md=77519bb332fb4c6aa10261628453d662

@Christopher Berry Hey Christopher, welcome! A bourbon and pork butt guy from Oklahoma — you’ll fit right in here. Plenty of recipes and techniques in the classroom to keep you busy. What does your current pork butt process look like?
Quick Guide & Intro! 🔥🍖
Hey everyone! Brian here. If you're new to the group or just joined, this is your one-stop starting point. Take 2-3 minutes to read through— it'll help you get the most out of our community right away. Let's keep it simple, fun, and all about great smokes. 1. Quick Walkthrough: How Skool Works - Here Skool is super easy once you know the basics—no complicated forums, just clean discussions and tools to share your cooks. - Posting a New Thread or Sharing: Click "Write something". First, pick a Category (super important—e.g., "Beginner Basics" for questions, "Recipes and Rubs" for your latest spice blend, "Show & Tell" for photos of your bark). Give it a clear Title (e.g., "First Brisket – Tips Needed!"), write your post, add photos/videos (they get way more replies), and hit Post. You can edit or delete your own stuff anytime. - Replying / Commenting: Scroll to any post and type in the comment box at the bottom. Reply directly to someone's comment for threaded convos. Use @ + their name to notify them (e.g., @BrianBeddingfield). React with emojis (fire, thumbs up) or likes. Comment early/often—it's how friendships and great advice happen! - Using Categories: Top Bar (under "Write Something") shows all categories like Beginner Basics, Recipes and Rubs, Equipment Reviews, Advanced Techniques, Q&A Help Desk, Show & Tell, Events and Challenges, Announcements, etc. Click one to see only posts there—makes finding rub tweaks or gear advice fast. Always post in the right category so people see it. - Searching for Stuff: Use the search bar (magnifying glass at top). Type keywords like "maple rub," "brisket stall," "Weber Kettle smoking," or "Crimson Core tweaks." It searches posts, comments, and even Classroom modules. Great for finding answers without asking the same question twice! - Notifications – Stay in the Loop: You'll get alerts for replies to your posts, @mentions, or new activity. Customize in your profile pic → Settings → Notifications. Turn on/off email/push for new posts in categories, replies, or events. Follow specific members (their profile → Follow) for alerts when they post. Bell icon on any thread = get notified for new comments there. Turn on Calendar notifications so you never miss a live smoke session!

@Christopher Strickland Hey Chris, sorry for the late reply — I was hosting a BBQ for 70 people this past Saturday! Welcome to the community, this is exactly the kind of member we love having here. Running fundraisers and weddings out of the gate is no joke — you’re already ahead of most. Would love to hear more about the pull-behind setup when you get it. Jump into the classroom whenever you’re ready and don’t hesitate to share your cooks in here!
Annual BBQ was a success!!

Pulled Pork.
That's the thing I love about Barbecue! Simplicity is perfection! Just crafting a balance of juices and flavors and then the patience to wait while you trust the process!
