Setting Up Your Pedals (Live Q&A Sneak Peak 👀)
During one of our live Q&A sessions inside Guitar Gym Pro, @Bryan Toder asked a great question about pedals—especially how to set them up. I remember when I first started with pedals… and wow, was it confusing! So, I put together this breakdown to help make your pedal journey a little easier. Hope it helps! And if you want to join us for these live sessions, come hang out inside Guitar Gym Pro. www.skool.com/guitargympro We go live every Tuesday and Thursday and make sure no question goes unanswered! Keep strumming, Jake G.

Ever since Ricardo named his new pup "Riff" (musician, much? 😂), it's got me thinking... What are some everyday things YOU do DIFFERENTLY now that you're a guitarist? 🤔 We're not talking practice routines or guitar maintenance here, folks. Think outside the case! 🧰🚫 For example, I can't listen to certain music while working anymore - I get so lost in them I don't get a single thing done. Drop your guitar-induced quirks in the comments below! 👇 Let's see how deep this rabbit hole goes... 🐇🕳️

I think in a way its maybe affected me negatively when it comes to listening to music. I seem to listen out more for the guitars, and figure out in my head if I can play it or not. If I think or know I can, I keep listening. If I don't think I can play it, or wouldn't want to, then I skip the song. Its weird that even though I'm enjoying the guitar more, I'm not actually listening to songs like I used to where I just enjoy the music..
Falling Slowly
Keeping the tempo when it switches between the methodical fingerpicking and the less structured strumming is something I'm working on and hoping to have a breakthrough on this month. Also, I tried this on both acoustic and electric and I'm much better on my electric. I think my muscle memory is more attuned to my electric neck/fretboard than it is to my acoustic which makes sense as I definitely play the electric more.

@Jake Galambos i have always played electric, and only in the last couple years started on acoustic. I now find my acoustoc is easier to play than my electric.. weird 😜

@Jake Galambos it would definitely be a mix of both. It just depends what I'm feeling at the time. Nothibg wrong with some Metallica on the acoustic. Definitely no SRV solos though 😝.

Hey everyone. Been playing on and off (more off) for around 30 years (more electric than anything) now but there's always something new to learn. Picked up the acoustic for the first time a couple years ago, and loving the more mellow pace. Never been able to sing and play together, but in the last 6 months or so (after alot of help and encouragement from others), I am making progress on that, so that's a win for me. Current challenge will always be time, and fitting in everything i want to do in the limited time available. Here's a picture of my little music corner of the living room, until I get my music room / home studio setup. Excuse the mess of cables, it's temporary 😜.
