@Jake Yakes if you are after beauty, another great spot Enoshima Island is an easy train ride from Tokyo and was amazing. I think that was my wifeโs favourite. Getting there was expensive but if you look around and avoid the chain hotels, accommodation can be quite reasonable. Eating out is cheap compared to Canada. Local train travel was not bad but the bullet train is on the pricy side.

@Unstoppable Ensah most donโt come with a strap but they usually have one or two strap buttons to attach a strap to. Is there a metal or plastic piece sticking out at the end of the body? Some acoustics will only have one strap button and then the other end of the strap would be tied around the neck just after the nut (under the strings).

Smells Like Teen Spirit playthrough
Iโve known this song since it came out and Iโve played the main riff many times over the years but this week is the first time Iโve really taken the time to learn the parts (thanks to the #December 2025 - Smells Like Teen Spirit classroom topic). I play the lead parts a bit differently (same notes, different position) and Iโm struggling on the transition to the solo but for a couple of days work Iโm pretty happy with my progress. If you are a beginner and not seeing this progress happen quickly for you, please remember that Iโve been playing guitar since a couple of years after this song came out.

SOM Feedback
Finally said screw it and played with the record. Did an abbreviation for the strumming pattern, not at 116 yet Open to any and all feedback. This song is kicking my butt ๐

The only thing I can suggest is to keep practicing. I wouldnโt go all the way down to the lowest bpm workouts as I donโt think you are that far off but only you can determine that. None of the parts are super difficult but they are fast and the changes come quick. Youโll definitely get there - you are making great progress.

Who are you and what you do? I'm Dale and I'm currently working as an HR Consultant after 20 plus years in hospitality management. How long have you been playing guitar? I started 30 years ago, after about 10 years put it down and picked it back up about 3 years ago. What is your favorite song to listen to right now (or pick a few if you can't choose 1 ๐)? Right now I'm listening to a bunch of different music to learn new songs. Linkin Park, Black Eyed Peas, Crash Kings and traditional Celtic music.
