So. A couple months back, I shared in the FB group that literally within a span of 3 days, our ads went from 2-3 sales a day to literally 0 for more than a week -- after being ROAS positive for nearly 2 months. Click thru rates were still solid, but the landing page completely stopped converting. Tweaked a few things, made one sale over the next 3-4 weeks, then put it all on pause for summer because blowing cash on something that was no longer working wasn't worth it. Well, I'm back with a 3 months later update -- and 2 important lessons. 1) When you're trying to figure out why performance tanked, simplify the funnel to isolate the problem. It took until this week for me to realize that I hadn't ever tried turning off our 2-step form. I turned it off, and had 2 sales within one hour of doing so. There seems to have been an intermittent glitch on the form which was making people not go through the sales process. 2) Double check your ad settings to make sure Meta hasn't changed something on you. In particular... make sure that the checkbox that lets them change the destination URL isn't checked... (Had no idea it was turned on until someone messaged me and said, hey, you realize the "learn more button" doesn't go to the same link as in the text of the ad?") Changed that this morning. Now we wait to see if things turn around enough to get us back to ROAS positive. But at least we're getting sales again.
