Disrupting Rituals 🤣
I have a random weeknight to myself (husband met a friend for dinner) so I took advantage to get some laundry done, and then up size some pots for plants....to make room for more....well, about an hour in....little Midge comes and makes it very clear that I need to come sit on the couch for our nightly cuddle routine 🤣

@Melanie Benware I love watching the silent conversations between dogs, or that dogs have with us. I often find myself narrating them..😂

@Melanie Benware different voices for different dogs?
Morning Reunions
Little Midge sleeps in a crate in our room (she had crate potty issues when we got her last year) and in her little "glitchy" mind that's where she must sleep even though she has a crate in the dog room with the rest of them she happily uses during the day. Every morning, without fail, she has to celebrate her reunion with them. Declan and Fern are NOT morning dogs but they tolerate her enthusiasm...Jason, my husband, told me it is the equivalent of his tolerance of me being a "fucking ray of sunshine" every morning....he's not a morning person either 🤣

Love it! Someone has to be enthusiastic in the morning!
Celebrating dogs looking fine and fit 😍
The athleticism and physical prowess of my dogs has always been a source of delight for me. Some of my dogs have been built for athletic endeavour while others of them weren't dealt a great genetic hand in that regard, but either way, seeing them using their bodies well and being lean and fit (even if not with super high muscle definition) has always been something I've strived for and then taken a lot of joy from. Following on from a little interaction @Susan Cleveland and I just had, I thought I'd start this thread for pics of our dogs in fine form. These ones of Slipstream and I are from the period when I was conditioning him for the Dogs NSW 20km Endurance Test. Slip came to me at six and a half months old, and once he'd physically matured I realised that he did not fit the mould of the whippet who only sprinted and slept, he had a lot of stamina, so I conditioned him carefully over many months and on the day of the test he started and finished on the same heart rate, and he never open mouth panted during the trial either. I was pretty chuffed with our effort. Would love to see any pics or video you have of your dogs in fine form. 🙂

@Susan Cleveland she did, its interesting, I use this photo in a presentation I do on body language as there are loads of points to make from her body language. what she is actually doing is staring at a pigeon that has dared to land on her garage roof.

@Susan Cleveland if you were to view that in terms of escalating arousal, then the high tail, the base is what’s important here, the weight forward, the head high, mouth closed and the tense muscles, the stare are all indications of arousal, added together they indicate a heightened state of arousal. Which itself is not a problem, but there are further escalations I would be cautious of and always aware of what that arousal gets pointed at!

Magic in the morning pt2
Here is the little ones start to the day, today’s morning interaction was a short one, I always let Bea decide how long this takes, unless she decides she is going back to sleep on me! Often she will come out and just push the top of her head into me for a minute. She will happily stay upside down until 1000, so mornings are relaxed for her, the opposite to the frantic start for the Dobermann’s who like to get up and out!

@Melanie Sweeney thank you! People think we are mad getting up as early as we do, but having the time to let this stuff happen is more important than most non dog people can understand! So grateful @Birdy O'Sheedy created this space!

@Melanie Sweeney right! It’s the part of the day nobody can take or interfere with. Once the normal day starts who knows what’s going to influence it or take your time!
