Upside down cuddles 🙃
Pax loves lying on me like a contortionist 😁 Most … like really most…dog owners love cuddling their dog. It co- regulates our nervous system, can be calming and offers a cocktail of beneficial neurotransmitters. Buuuuuut…. The real magic happens when we bring awareness to this moment. We put our attention to it, soak it up in every cell… let our heart expand… our breath slows down. Then, you transformed a cute moment with your dog into actual magic that can ripple through you. Your awareness and 100% presence is needed to really unlock the magic. Questions? 💛

My nightly cuddle session with my blockheads! I sometimes struggle tuning everything else and taking it all in. Other times I just sit and soak it up. I need to work on being more present in these moments!
Joy in the silly moments
This is my step stool that Fern has climbed on since she was a puppy. She has certainly outgrown it...but tonight, while I'm cooking she positioned herself in it to get a better view of what's for dinner 😂
Joy in the silly moments
🥴🤢🤮
So today Pax kept throwing up this morning. 15-20 times. All over the carpets, on the leather couch, my bag and shoes. And after each bout he would come to me, press his weight against me, needing me to steady his presence. He had fear in his eyes. Confusion. That’s rare from him. And far out, the trust he has in me to be there for him was so humbling and I felt this burden on my shoulders to not let him down. But that was bittersweet magic. Such a deep, deep bond but also being worried for him. The thought of losing him scares me to the bottom of my heart. Thankfully he is feeling better now. I found a chicken bone in his vomit. We had a big family bbq last night and when I was cleaning up, he scored a chicken wing from the rubbish. Lightening fast. Pax is allergic to chicken. So yeah, good outcome as he is ok now. But we both knew in that moment when he was so unwell how precious our bond is. We are all on borrowed time. A dog’s love is a powerful teacher in teaching us presence and not taking time for granted. Go and hug your dogs and tell them how amazing they are 🙏💛

Glad he is on the mend, those moments can be nerve racking!
Midge the feral pup
We've come a long way, Midge and I. When we pulled her in April she was a feral pup living in the woods with her siblings. We have patiently put in the work and it's moments like this, doing the dishes and feel her come sit beside me, that are magical for me. I don't think I will ever tire of her learning to trust and choosing to be with me!

@Pat Stuart her and her two siblings were trapped by animal control. The other two were pulled by a rescue but Midge was left behind. The shelter reached out to me to evaluate her. I decided to pull her under the rescue I work with. It was a long process and we have a long way to go still but she has learned to "dog". The pack runs I do have played a HUGE part in her rehab, more than anything I could have done alone. She still has isms and we call them Midge's Glitches. She's a resilient little creature and the most amazing to me is how different she looks from day 1 (picture attached) to me, her eyes say it all! From shut down and afraid to trusting and secure.
