Walking Together ❤️
Walking together, in quiet ways, Through borrowed streets and far-off days, Listening closely to all we find,The world unfolding in the mind. Learning gently, step by step,In every pause, in every breath, Even apart, there’s something true,A thread that pulls me close to you. Curious hearts that wander free,Still find their way in you and me. 💜

A little off the hip tribute poem to my wild untamed Irish grandmother. Although we were vastly different in every singleway possible the uniting force was our deeply wild spiritual connection to nature, and that is lovely ❣️ I held my inhale for what felt like centuries in my bones. I could feel the claw of you reaching toward my tounge with memory trapped within the lungs of my breath. The world held their hands over the mouth of your spells and shamed you into confession at an alter that was not yours to stay. They called your magic 'sin' and made you kneel at a cross for your penance. But your land still hums with your rage, and that wild that you lost is my inheritance to dance along in the soil. She is my name, and the flames you tried to ignite her with have carried its ash onto me. 💚🤍🧡

@Kate Bullock thank you. I loved reading your poem as well. I've always had a tough time expressing my emotions, but somehow I can do it with poetry. 😊
🇨🇦 Around the World in 80 Sketches : Canada Calling 🍁
This week we’re heading to Canada… and oh it’s a good one 🙌🏻A quiet road, soft trees, that feeling of space stretching out beside you… the kind of place that invites you to slow right down and notice. 👉https://maps.app.goo.gl/A4ecYzZjNCzec7859 Before we wander too far… I’ll also be sharing my Greenland piece soon ❄️ It’s not quite finished yet, still sitting in that in-between stage… but I quite like that part of the process. The not-quite-there-yet. The becoming. Now… let’s go exploring 🌍✨ 🌿 If you’re new here You can travel with us no passport required. 🙌🏻 Each week we visit a new place using Street View and respond in whatever way feels right to you: * a quick doodle * a painting * a collage * a poem * or simply a few words about how it makes you feel There’s no right way to do this. Just a smidgen of curiosity and a moment for yourself. ❤️ I’d love to see what you notice in this one… maybe it’s the way the road leads you forward, or how the trees hold the space, or something small that only you spot 💛

@Kate Bullock when I first began my understanding of generational trauma I really started honing in people watching. I grew up extremely poor, we had no car and because of that my world consisted of only a few mile radius. All I saw was poverty, crime, addiction, and chaos. So observation was very (and still is) very important to how I process what 'normal' is. I remember the first time I went to someone's home that had a two story house, the heat on, food stocked in the cabinets, and their home felt very calm and loving. My eyes almost popped out of my head! I was in grade 11, and was clueless that people lived this way. I'm like so you don't go stand outside in the rain for free government food to eat? Wait what? Shock! I often think I could be here angry I had to grow up the way I did. I have an open excuse card to play. However, I'm very thankful for it. Due to trauma I learned to read people, energy, and rooms. It's no longer based in fear, it serves my energy and helps me connect better with people I choose to have in my life. It has taught me resilience and how to dream inside a nightmare, and my third eye is so connected spiritually. There is so much beauty in just that alone. 😉💚 So people watching for me plays into this very big expansive growth part of me that is ever evolving, its lovely. And curious to know how this plays into your creativity😊

@Kate Bullock I was talking to a friend recently who was very sensitive as a child (still is) and that's the biggest part of what makes him such a beautiful human. His sensitivity isn't something to 'fix' or should ever be seen so from the worlds stand point but often is. I absolutely love his squishy heart and believe the world would be so much more compassionate if we had hearts like he had. But his mom would often try physical harm in an attempt to 'toughen him up to be a man' when he was just a boy. She was punishing him out of her own insecurities- much like it sounds like you experienced with writing. These patterns live in families for generations until someone like yourself rises and observes them to call it as the dysfunction it is. This is why your art and your writing is so important. Its not just beautiful expression, it literally pours healing over the wounds and shifts pattern recognition for the next generation in your family line. Because what you are processing out of you they see as lovely. They don't see the little girl being punished for having dyslexia. They just read your writing and smile, or see your art and it lights up a room. They might not be aware of it, but those are major shifts in healing generational trauma. You should have never had to have carried all of the things you went through as a child, but I'm so thankful you are here now and free to express with no limitations. Hope your day is filled with the presence of ease and love
🎨 Let it be messy 🎨
Every so often I get everything out…glue, paint, crayons, pencils, scraps of paper even the fineliners for good measure ! And then I just let go. 🧑‍🎨 No plan, no pressure… just whatever is in my head finding its way out. It usually looks like a bomb’s gone off —and to be fair… it kind of has 😅 But in that ahhhh… I needed that kind of way. I think we can do this in so many parts of our lives. Writing is a big one just line after line, whatever comes out.No editing, no judging. Because while you’re ‘purging’ it all out…your brain is quietly making sense of things in the background. 🧠❤️ So I guess what I’m saying is go for it. I think my current sketchbook shows what I am trying to say 🥰 Let it be messy.Let it be imperfect. You might just surprise yourself 🤍

🌍 Around the World… but make it yours 🇬🇱
I finished last week’s Around the World in 80 Sketches… and honestly, I went on quite the little journey with this one creatively speaking. When I first had a wander around on Google Maps, I completely fell for those little buildings with the ice drifting past… there was just something about the stillness of it all. ❄️ At the same time, I’ve been re-reading an Alice in Wonderland book illustrated by ANDREA D’AQUINO and I am so inspired by her in this version. The mix of watercolour, ink and collage is just… chefs kiss. 😙 👌🏻 So naturally, I thought I’d try a bit of that myself. But then… I picked up some new fineliners I’d been wanting to play with, started a continuous line drawing just to map things out… and before I knew it, the watercolours were out, the page was flowing and the collage idea quietly disappeared somewhere along the way. And you know what… I actually love it just as it is. 🥰❤️ That’s the thing I want you to take from this if you’ve been sitting on the fence about joining in… This isn’t about pressure, precision or performance. It’s about letting your mind wander a little… without questioning where it goes or whether it’s “right”. So if you fancy it… come travel with us. No rules, no expectations… just a smidgen of curiosity 🤍
