Watching this community champion each other has been one of the greatest joys of my year. ❤️✨ Smidgen of Calm has become something so much more than I ever imagined. It really does feel like a little pocket of safety on the internet, and that’s because of every single one of you. Thank you for believing in this little idea. Thank you for showing up. Myself and Holly have just got back from an evening at the theatre, and what a way to end the day! 🎭 We went to see Beetlejuice: The Musical, which has just arrived in the UK, and wow… what a show! If you’re a fan of the film, I think you’ll absolutely love the musical. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🥳 Musical theatre scratches a creative itch that nothing else quite reaches. It’s so much more than a performance. I’m completely fascinated by the costume design, the sets, the lighting, the choreography… the sheer number of moving parts is mind-blowing. 🤯 Somehow, it all comes together so seamlessly that it feels effortless, even though you know an incredible amount of creativity is happening behind the scenes. It’s even more impressive when you remember many of London’s theatres are wonderfully old buildings, each with their own quirks and limitations. Tomorrow is the moment I’ve been looking forward to all year… the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Every single year it fills my creative cup, and this year feels even more special because Holly and I are hoping to bring a piece of art home with us. I can’t wait to take you along. ❤️

This week is shaping up to be a very exciting one! 🎨✨ Tomorrow Holly and I are heading up to London for one of our favourite annual traditions… the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Every year we wander the galleries together, but this year is extra special because we’re finally going to buy a piece of art while we’re there. I can’t tell you how excited I am. 🥳🥳🥳 We’re also off to see Beetlejuice the Musical (its first run here in the UK!) and we’ll also be visiting the Frida Carlo exhibition too ! 🥰😍 It’s going to be a wonderfully full few days of art, theatre and inspiration. 🎨🎭 I can’t wait to soak it all in… and, of course, bring you along with me. If all goes to plan, there’ll be plenty of photos, videos and little moments to share along the way. Here’s to filling our creative cups. 💜

As the evening draws to a close, I’m feeling incredibly grateful to call this little corner of the world home and to be able to share it with my bestest boy, Reggie. 🌾🐾 Tonight’s ramble took us through fields glowing in the last of the sunlight, with the air full of that quiet summer magic that seems to appear just before dusk. 🌅 I hope you’re having a good day wherever you are in the world. And if things feel a little heavy right now, remember that not every season is meant for rushing ahead. Sometimes you’re exactly where you need to be, learning, resting, growing, or simply catching your breath. 💜 Be gentle with yourself. The sun will rise again tomorrow. ✨

I really got into Peru this week! What started as one sketch turned into two sketches and even a poem. 🙈 The colours completely drew me in rich reds, turquoise blues and warm earthy tones everywhere I looked. 🙌🏻 That’s what I love about Around the World in 80 Sketches. Sometimes a place doesn’t just inspire a picture, it sparks a whole page of creativity. ❤️ Colours of Peru ❤️💜💙💛💚 High in the mountains, where colours run deep, The earth tells stories it has chosen to keep. Bands of turquoise, ochre, crimson and gold, Layers of culture, history and folklore untold. Somewhere beyond the clouds, I like to think Paddington began his journey with a hopeful wink. A small bear from Peru, with a suitcase in hand, Carrying kindness from this remarkable land. And as I sit and sketch beneath the vast blue sky, I find that colour speaks when words pass by.
