An observation
Hi all, It's been a long while since I had any activity here. I waa going through a lot of issues on the personality front so went off the grid. Now that I am back and seeing posts of everyone, I could see one common thing, the discussion about reviews. One thing that i have learned in almost a decade of experience in book marketing is that reviews aren't just for the sake of it. The way they are written and done also counts. It is necessary to think beyond with a unique approach as there are billions of books listed to Amazon on a routine basis. And before reviews, it is even more important to be clear about the objective with which you wrote the book in the first place. The objective will make a huge difference in the entire marketing strategy. So, yes, reviews are important, but the objective behind getting them should be well-defined too.
@Akhila Saroha You make a great point. Reviews matter, but their real value comes when they align with the book’s purpose. Defining the objective first ensures that both the reviews and the overall marketing strategy work in the right direction. if I may ask which stage are you on your manuscript now????
Are you still sitting with that unfinished manuscript?
Fellow writers - can we talk about the elephant in the room? We all start books with fire in our bellies. That 2 AM idea that has us typing like maniacs, already planning our book launch party. Then chapter three, four or five hits. The excitement dies. The beautiful beginning feels like false advertising for the mess we're creating. This is what I've learned from writers who actually reach "The End": - They write terrible first drafts (and don't care) - They show up even when inspiration doesn't - They aim for 200 messy words, not 2,000 perfect ones - They find their tribe The secret isn't having the perfect plot. It's accepting that your first draft will be garbage - and writing it anyway. Who else is wrestling with the dreaded middle right now? Let's support each other through it. What's your biggest writing challenge? Drop it in the comments below 👇

how you can sell your books on amazon
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as an author isn’t just the writing, it’s the selling. You can pour your heart into a manuscript, but when it doesn’t move the way you hoped, it can be discouraging. What I’ve learned, though, is that selling isn’t just about numbers. It’s about connection. When I shifted from “selling a book” to “sharing a story” with the right audience, things started to change. I began focusing on building relationships with readers, engaging in genuine conversations, and positioning my work where it naturally resonates. I also invest time in refining my pitch, learning marketing basics, and being consistent—even when results are slow. For me, persistence and community are the keys to overcoming the lows. At the end of the day, the lack of immediate sales doesn’t mean the story has no value. It just means I have to keep finding better ways to reach the people who need it most.
