Welcome Michael!
Introduce yourselves!
Hey guys - we have curated a pretty amazing group of entrepreneurs and AI enthusiasts here. Please introduce yourselves by telling us: Who you are Where you are from Where you are currently at with AI Any recent AI wins Any AI questions? What is your AI vision for your company? Most of the AI learning I've experienced recently has been from shared experiences with others, so I encourage you all to help kick-off this community by sharing a bit about yourselves :)

@Michael Schwarz I have used napkin and it's great. I also like Piktochart. I should check with the design team if they use any of these.
AI with Allie: AI first vs AI last approach
Fragment from the last email I got from Allie K Miller I thought worth sharing. Really like the “AI last vs AI first” approach: Are you stuck in the AI Tutorial Trap? Last week, Allie spoke with a Fortune 500 CMO who said, “How the hell do you keep up with AI? I feel like I’ve watched 47 tutorials this month, and I’m still drowning.” She’s not alone, every month brings more videos, but not necessarily more clarity. Here’s the problem: Watching endless AI tutorials keeps us chasing the latest how-to, but rarely builds the foundational thinking that truly changes how we work It's the difference between: • AI-last professionals: Memorize prompts, copy others, watch tutorials, but rarely innovate or discover new use cases on their own—like tourists following a guidebook. • AI-first professionals: Develop mental frameworks and systems that work across any tool—like locals who know the shortcuts and hidden gems. Bottom line: Tools and tutorials will always change, but the mental models behind effective AI use stay constant. Let’s focus on those, and not just the next how-to video. What do you think, how do you see yourself on this AI-first vs. AI-last spectrum, and what do you think are the best ways to shift toward being truly AI-first?
Inventures retreat: Alberta Innovates (Lake Louise)
Welcome to our new innovative friends from Inventures Lake Louise, a 3 day retreat following the Inventures conference which took place the 3 days prior. It was hosted by Alberta Innovates, and curated by The Gathering. Met so many people who blew me away with their ideas, crazy business models, and big hearts. I just love how kind and welcoming this group was. Me and @Jeannette Tran were the only BC’ers at the retreat, and made so many new friends… Beyond the amazing conversations and new connections, I loved learning more about how government plays a role in accelerating innovation. I’m so used to thinking of government as this slow moving beast that moves too slow to truly support any real innovation, but it feels like Alberta is building a different culture. I think people are waking up to the fact that if they want to be a part of this AI transformation, it is going to require alignment across all levels, and fast decision making. There was a roundtable AI event where we got to be the dumb people in the room, that was quite eye opening. We debated for 90m about all the different things that were impeding AI adoption. I feel each state/province and country needs to take AI as seriously as this group is. And we need to form strong partnerships between those groups, as this shit is moving too fast to do it in silos. Here are a few photos from this event. For those of you who were/are there, what was your biggest takeaway? I think my big breakthroughs will happen after the event, once I get a chance to re-connect with new friends, and form new synergies with their businesses. Oh and nice to see at least 5 different EO members there, from EO Calgary and Edmonton.

Wow! Amazing news! AI adoption plans are key to creating AI first organizations! Is it me or are there a couple of AI images mixed with real ones? 🤔Telling the difference gets harder and harder!
The Most Important Google IO Announcements (SUPERCUT)
What are your thoughts about Google's announcements today? Still a lot to process. The diffusion model for text is mind bending! The same way they generate images/videos... but for text... and so fricken fast?! I kinda wish there was one clear winner in the OpenAI vs. Google battle so we wouldn't have to test out and master so many different tools sigh 🤪. This is a great summary video to review.

Based on the first seconds, it's remarkable how the AI refuses to be tricked and tells the her she's wrong. That means it doesn't fall into biases that easily.
