Heyy I got my first win in copywriting and an important lesson with it. The win? $5. Not from outreach. Not from client work. From a contest …breaking down a storytelling email from a newsletter I regularly read, Ashu drafts He liked my breakdown. I got the prize. Here's the honest part though. These days I've been completely inconsistent. Wasn't writing. Wasn't outreaching. Wasn't doing anything except reading emails every day. It was like I have almost quit copywriting (like I wasn’t working) but didn’t want to quit. That’s why I kept reading emails everyday. Got to know about contest → Participated → won the prize. $5 isn't life-changing. But it's proof. Proof that the work I had put in before I almost quit wasn't wasted. Proof that skill doesn't disappear when you almost quit. The lesson isn't "stay consistent" you already know that. The lesson is: “Don't fully quit” Keep one small habit alive even when everything else falls apart. That is enough. It brought me back. It can bring you back too. Signing off AJ

I have 3 options now ..... I am into this realm of copywriting for about 3 months and honestly .... not grinding ... working hard enough just roaming here and there thinking progressing but really NOT at all and LUCKILY got this enlightenment ,realisation , awareness due to a discord server friend. TODAY , he made me realise that rewriting copies from swiped.co won't really made me better and it could make even worse as I don't know better than copywriters who wrote that swipe copies and that makes complete sense if you look at it carefully. Also my innocence on asking AI to rate it was a bad move vary bad actually. But best what he made me realise was ... *Get results for real clients * and that would make me better at the skill faster than anything else Again this make complete sense. (If you look at it carefully ) But then I get diplomatic answers from my brain 1. I should still hold unto my consuming content , practicing , rewriting and become atleast 7/10 (by AI) and then outreach and and 1k+ retainers plus royalty through the roof. 2. That's imposter syndrome , just go OUTREACH you'll never feel ready and you are into this almost 3 months and you know many thing so just go get clients. 3. I should manage b/w both still practicing making portfolio while outreaching while posting content on my acc. too to get any inbound work possible or atleast building credibility when I outreach and in 10 weeks from now land 5 solid testimonials from free work plus paid retainer. And honestly I am confused Asf like none of them seems working not even 3rd as it has lot to do and if done perfect it works but I am not perfect and no human is and practically it seems impractical to me right now So now your turn guyss give me what I should really do for next 10 weeks to make a significant progress. Reminded me of my old days. Try to make it more personalized and trigger emotions rather than what you'll do. All the best with it but kindly I am not interested " Didn't give up managed to find email through his eBook seeling platform Created 3 value assets for him to use : Rewritten IG bio that pulls clicks fast “Last slide” that makes guys get your free eBook right away (to start funnel) Full funnel : readers → $7 buyers → $30 upsells Spending almost whole day researching , writing , editing etc etc Now cold emailed him and hope for a good reply. Ig I have wasted the day before him but let's see if he agrees... What's your opinion ?? @everyone Ik all of you will say 'you freaking waster the day ' But what to do .... I’m starting outreach today to offer free work for testimonials, but I’m facing these real limitations: - No niche chosen - No personal brand (just 98 followers) - No testimonials or results yet - No payment gateway (parents don’t allow it) - No sales/outreach experience Still, I’m going all in. You know something is off when you're doing everything "right" and still not getting paid. Look, I know you've followed every guru's advice like it's gospel. Sent free samples (maybe even multiple) Lead with value. Prove yourself before you ask for money. Like you we're taught to. You've wasted 8 hours on those "this is the only masterclass you'll need to watch on getting clients'' type masterclasses... Another 8 hours crafting the "perfect" sample... Maybe even waited 8 days for a response... Only to get: "Thanks, but not what we're looking for." which stings so hard... And I know exactly how this feels because I have literally experienced this exact bullshit before. I followed the guru playbooks like gospel. And I'm pissed that I wasted so much time on it. Because here's what nobody TOLD ME about "free sample" outreach: It literally violates the fundamental laws of business psychology. They all say... "Free sample outreach is how you build relationships." No it doesn't because when you lead with free work... I know freelancers who've gotten stuck with clients who accepted their free samples and literally ghosted them after all their hard work... When you do this... - You're programming them to see you as worthless. - You have zero leverage because they don't care if you can write words—they care about results. But with free samples, you can't prove results. You can only prove you can create content. Plus, you barely reach out to anyone at volume because each sample takes hours to create. (Outreach is a volume game) It's a broken model disguised as "providing value." While I was wasting months creating free samples that got ignored now matter how much I learned... Instead, I could have been using a method that gave me leverage from day one. A method where you're making an offer they can't easily ignore. And no when I first used this method... I literally hadn't generated a single dollar for anyone... Zero results. Zero testimonials.
