Big pen save
My lad (under 14) made this save in the JPL this morning with the game at 4-4 against a very good Solihull team. Went on to win the game 6-5

Footwork.
The boy has been working so hard on footwork this year and it’s starting to really pay off. 3 saves from JPL last weekend in a 2-0 win.

Type1 diabetes.
My 13 year old lad has just made this video from last season. He suffers with his size due to being type1 diabetic and having severe hypos through the night resulting in countless bottles of lucozade and biscuits during the night. He has trialled at 3 professional clubs who have all said the same thing, loads of potential but due to size unable to offer a contract. He plays grassroots for our local team and JPL (top division) for Oxfordshire. Has anyone else on here got a child with type1 diabetes? If so how do you try to keep on top of sugar levels when it comes to matchdays and training sessions?

@Lisa Brady thank you! I will have a look into that. He works closely with a dietitian at hospital who is brilliant, the thing is he eats all the right things but the extra carbs (especially at the wrong time of day) have a huge impact. Thanks again for that it could be very helpful.

@Terri P ah so sorry to hear that!! It’s so difficult isn’t it. Low sugars are a nightmare and means so many extra carbs when normally they wouldn’t be needed. Always happens at the worst time of day with my lad usually between 1am and 4am. If you could find that out for me I would really appreciate it, thank you. Wishing your child all the best and hope you manage to get things sorted ASAP!!

Love a penalty save for the win in Ko cup

JPL and grassroots
Would love to get an idea of people’s opinions on playing JPL and grassroots? My lad does both which is allowed but lots of people don’t seem to agree with it. We’ve had lots of opposition parents saying they don’t think it’s fair, my answer is always that grassroots is a chance for him to play with his school mates and see them outside of school which for me is what grassroots is all about. Should young lads goalkeeper or outfield be made to feel like they shouldn’t be playing grassroots just because they’re decent at what they do?
