My employees have been pushing me to get new headshots taken for more than a year now. My current headshots show someone much younger, not so well dressed, and not in the best physical condition. My one conservative female employee emphasized that we work with a lot of female clients and I look way better now than before. She may have just been using her intelligence to get me to do what she felt was best in a way that stroked my ego... In the land of Hollywood, it's not hard to find a photographer for headshots. The one I went to, Bradford Rogne Photography, has a lot of experience with executive headshots, movie/TV headshots, and executives in movie/TV headshots. I used my style consultant to help select the outfits and visible details (Chris Modoo, who really knocked it out of the park with these, IMO). I wanted one outfit for board-level meetings with clients and potentially for investors, one for clients (the day to day stuff), and one for internal use for recruiting and internal employee communication (more relaxed than the other two). The photographer was exactly what you think of when you see one in the movies. Lots "I love it!", "give me the smile!", and "yes, Yes, YES!!" It was done in a way that truly made me smile and enjoy the process. He totally knew how to get the best out of his subjects and had fun doing it. While the cost was a bit large, I did not realize it included every single photo. There must be 300-400 photos. They even came in full sized and web-based sized already shrunken for our use. They have a touch-up service for any photos we want on the side of a building a every minute detail can be seen... Here is a sample of some of the photos. If anyone in the LA area is looking for a similar service, I highly recommend this studio.
