Hey y'all! I'm just so stoked you're all here. I just wanted to tell you guys that I am chugging away so hard at the FREE UGC Beginner's course and it's gonna be done in a matter of days or weeks. As I create this I'm like WOW. I wish I had a free guide when I started out. So... I'm really dying to know where you guys are in your UGC / content / freelancing journey? Who is brand new to UGC? Who is a seasoned creator? Go to the welcome post and tell me! I want to hear from you :)

@Riki Cole how frustrating to not be paid, I’m sorry. I hope it gets resolved quickly.

This One X Mistake Could Cost You $$$$
Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’ve been observing the X algorithm for a solid year now and today something happened that confirmed my observations of how your social media presence is affecting the collaborations you receive as a content creator. So I’m going to share my TOP tip of the month… so please don’t miss this. It’s GOLD. ✨ and while we’re at it, please know that this probably applies to every social media platform. So here we go… Drumroll, please… #1 Don’t outsource your tweets & social posts to AI. (Well, fully outsource.) I know this is super tempting because we all want to save time. Even I had my virtual assistant posting ChatGPT generated updates for a while. But here’s the thing, so many people are starting to do this and as a collective, people are starting to become more aware of what is written by AI. It’s OK to do here and there but don’t rely on it. If you rely on it, it’s going to weaken your creativity and you’ll get lazy. Find a balance between completely outsourcing your social captions and status update updates to AI and find a way to make it sound like you or keep your originality. Think about it—using ChatGPT has a certain tone to its writing. It’s very clear, always positive, and tends to list things in threes (like I just did here lol.) But I can spot AI writing from a mile away. A lot of us can. Don’t get me wrong. There’s a time and a place for AI. I use it all the time. But as my mother always said: Wonderful servant, terrible master. I’m using AI to create my UGC course, but I’m not relying on it to replace my creativity or irreplaceable insight. I use it to do the heavy lifting and build the infrastructure. All that to say, think about the long-term effects of taking certain short cuts. Sure you may be saving time by not having to think of your own tweets, but the downside is you’re not showing brands, agencies, or creative strategists your personality! For example, today I posted a funny tweet that was inspired by a funny meme on my Pinterest board. I adapted the meme to be UGC niche specific. Not long after I posted that tweet I got an inbound from a huge beauty subscription box that you’ve probably heard of… FabFitFun!!!!

So very true! The other day I was using ChatGPT for something and my daughter actually got upset with me. She said please don’t let it replace your own creativity, it’s starting to take over. Out of the mouth of babes from my 17 year old.
A bit nervous!
I got an email from [email protected]! Super exciting but, I feel embarrassed and nervous because they mentioned my portfolio looking not too good. If you can help me out in any way on how I can fix these things, I’m very new to the space but would love to land this brand deal. This is the email feedback below! Also what do you typically bring to a brief as a creator other than mentions of a contract?

New Training! Portfolio Building
Happy Sunday everyone! Over in the Classroom tab you'll see a new course where I'll be loading all the Live Trainings & Q+A calls. Today I had the pleasure of auditing Breanna's portfolio and I gave her a solid structure on exactly what to put in a UGC portfolio. This live training module includes a PDF checklist + a FREE CANVA Template. You'll unlock this course when you become a Level 2 in the SKOOL community, so keep engaging. To level up you can comment, post an introduction post, respond to others, and engage! Happy portfolio building! -Jackie
